If you have ash trees on your property in Wright County, this map matters.
The teal areas on this Minnesota Department of Agriculture map show counties under formal quarantine for Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). Wright County is one of 59 counties confirmed statewide. EAB kills ash trees — usually within 2–4 years of infestation — and Minnesota has more ash trees than any other state.
Here's something worth knowing: whether to treat or remove an ash tree isn't a one-size-fits-all decision. It depends on the tree's health, size, location, proximity to structures, and how far EAB has progressed in the area. Reading all of that accurately is what an ISA Certified Arborist is trained to do.
We wrote up the full treat-or-remove decision framework — what to watch for, when treatment actually makes sense, and how the long-term costs compare: https://www.treetecllc.com/post/emerald-ash-borer-minnesota-treat-or-remove
At TreeTec, EAB evaluations are handled by an ISA Certified Arborist with hands-on experience treating EAB by trunk injection — the method the MN Department of Agriculture identifies as most effective for protecting valued ash trees.
When we come out, we'll tell you:
• Whether your tree is a good candidate for treatment
• Whether it's too far gone and should be removed before it becomes hazardous
• What the realistic cost and timeline look like either way
No pressure, no upsell. Just a straight read from someone qualified to give one.
