💡 Heat pumps don’t just “set themselves.”

We got a call from a homeowner who’d been staring at $590 electric bills for two months straight and couldn’t figure out why. System was “working,” house felt warm… but the meter was spinning like crazy.

When we showed up, nothing was technically broken.

The issue?
👉 The heat pump wasn’t tuned or set up correctly.

Modern heat pumps have a ton of adjustable parameters—balance points, staging, auxiliary heat lockouts, fan settings, defrost behavior, and more. If those aren’t dialed in for our North Idaho climate and that specific home, the system can run way harder (and more expensive) than it needs to.

We went through the setup, fine-tuned the controls, and optimized how the system actually operates.

📉 Result: electric bill cut nearly in half.
