Verdis has completed projects in over 14 states, but Coeur d’Alene is our home. We are excited to learn ignite cda, Coeur d’Alene’s urban renewal agency, has selected Verdis as a qualifying provider of architecture and engineering services for the upcoming five-year period.

Verdis will be supported by Architects West, a multi-discipline design firm with a 53-year track record of successful design projects in the Pacific Northwest region and beyond.

The two firms have been involved in a number of projects in the Lake City, including the construction of the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department boathouse, the J.C. White House/Museum of North Idaho project, predevelopment of the old Atlas Mill site, and restoration of the Northern Pacific Railroad Depot on 3rd Street.

Michael brings a diverse background in civil engineering, project design, surveying, and construction support. His experience spans municipal and private development, as well as engineering roles with the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Michael enjoys collaborating with clients and project teams to develop practical, high-quality solutions that help projects move efficiently from concept to completion. Outside of work, Michael enjoys open-water swimming, dirt biking, and spending time outdoors with his two daughters.

Meet Aidan Gelhausen, Verdis' 2026 summer engineering intern! Aidan is a senior at Mount Spokane High School and also attends Spokane Falls Community College through the Running Start Program. Aidan plans to study engineering at Montana State University in Bozeman. As an intern at Verdis, Aidan will spend the summer assisting with engineering inspections, learning the SWPPP process and working with our team on the Rocky Point Marina project at Heyburn State Park. Aidan's hobbies include backpacking and downhill skiing.

We are honored that the state entrusted Verdis to complete this remarkable project. It was a truly a team effort involving our entire team, engineers, planners and carpenters, led by Project Manager Sam Bice and Project Superintendent Kaiden Hoskins. A $23 million project to make a swath of improvements at Heyburn State Park has turned the old Chatcolet Marina into an upgraded facility intended to weather years of future recreation.

Verdis has finally expanded to states east of the Mississippi River!

We just received word that our joint-venture company, Verdis DJ&A, won a spot on the U.S. Forest Service Region 8 SRS Shortlist. The shortlist is a 3-year database used to select small business Architect-Engineer (A&E) firms for projects under $350,000 in Region 8. This region consists of 13 states, spanning from Texas to Virginia and Florida, and also includes Puerto Rico.

Tasks will include surveying, design and engineering.

Verdis DJ&A brings together two long-standing, high-performing firms with a deep legacy of delivering responsive, high-quality AE services to the USFS as well as other federal and state agencies. Collectively, we have over 200 dedicated professionals across five strategic offices.

We're looking forward to working with DJ&A to build on our record of success delivering projects on-time and on-budget for the U.S. Forest Service!
