Most people never see this part of the job. These are the structural joist hangers, corbel connections, and framing details underneath a deck we just completed in Cody. Every joist is on approved hangers, every connection is lagged into solid lumber, and the corbels at the post and beam are what eliminated the lateral movement the old deck had. This is what a deck restoration looks like when it's done right. The existing structure had lateral movement throughout — the deck was shifting side to side under load. We fabricated and installed 6x6 pressure-treated corbels at every post and beam connection, replaced all the framing joists with new pressure-treated lumber on structural hangers, and put down new 2x6 treated decking across the full field.
