What started as a one-person homeless outreach effort has grown into an organization dedicated to helping neighbors across the Richmond area.

Recently, NRE's Laura Volpini and Jennifer Langley had the opportunity to visit Moments Of Hope Outreach, present a contribution, and learn more about the organization's mission. Through food assistance, community outreach, resource support, and emergency shelter services, Moments of Hope helps meet immediate needs while restoring hope for those facing difficult circumstances.

We're proud to support an organization that is making such a meaningful difference in our communities. A special thank you to the Moments of Hope team for all you do.

Strong partnerships deserve to be celebrated. Even better when they help make a difference in our communities. ⛳🏠

Each year, New River Electrical's (NRE's) Partnership Appreciation Charity Golf Tournament gives us the opportunity to thank the customers, vendors, and partners who help make our success possible.

Last Friday, customers, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and employees joined us at Hidden Valley Country Club in Roanoke, Virginia, for the 2026 NRE Partnership Appreciation Charity Golf Tournament. Together, we celebrated those relationships while raising $42,150 for Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley.

We are especially grateful to our Platinum, Gold, and Silver Sponsors, whose generosity helped make the tournament and its impact possible.

We were also honored to be recognized as Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley's 2026 Outstanding Donor of the Year. This recognition reflects the generosity of everyone who supports our fundraising events and Habitat's mission to help local families achieve affordable homeownership.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the course, volunteered, sponsored, or contributed. We're grateful for your partnership and proud of the difference we've made together.

Every employee has someone waiting for them at home.

That's why the question, "What if you could work your entire career Injury Free?" means so much to us at New River Electrical (NRE).

We're honored to be the inaugural recipient of the DOLI Pioneer Award, presented at 2026 Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) Conference. The award recognizes organizations that are helping advance workplace safety through innovation, leadership, prevention, and a commitment to creating safer workplaces.

Accepting the award on behalf of NRE, Senior Vice President of Safety & Quality Jennifer Langley shared:

"We don't see this award as recognition that we've arrived or that we've figured everything out. We see it as recognition of the decision to keep asking questions, keep learning, keep improving, and never allow yesterday's success to become tomorrow's complacency."

We're also proud of Brandon Meade, Director of Environmental Health & Safety, who presented NRE's Injury Free Mindset during the conference, helping advance the conversation around what an Injury Free career culture can look like.

Being the inaugural recipient is a tremendous honor, but for us, it's not a finish line.

It's a reminder to keep learning, improving, and looking out for one another. We’ll continue working toward a future where every employee has the opportunity to build a long, successful, and Injury Free career.

Every crew has that person.

The one who notices when something doesn't look right. The one who asks a question before the work begins. The one who's willing to speak up, even if it means stopping for a minute to make sure everyone is on the same page.

On a job site, you're not just responsible for your own safety. You're looking out for the people beside you, too.

The best crews understand that. They communicate. They keep an eye on one another. They know that a quick reminder, a second set of eyes, or a simple conversation can make all the difference.

At the end of the day, the goal is simple: everyone goes home safely.

Because the person beside you matters.

This season, every walk meant more than a trip to first base. ⚾

Through New River Electrical's (NRE's) partnership with the Salem RidgeYaks, every walk during home games generated a $25 donation to Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley, with an additional $100 donated for each walk-off win. What started as a fun way to connect baseball and community impact quickly added up throughout the season.

On September 3, NRE proudly presented a check for $8,475, representing funds raised through that point in the season. After the final games were played, the season's total contribution grew to $8,875, helping Habitat continue its mission of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.

As an employee-owned company, we understand the value of having a place to call your own. That's why we're proud to support organizations that create opportunities for local families and strengthen the communities we call home.

Thank you to the Salem RidgeYaks, Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley, and everyone who helped turn walks on the field into opportunities for local families. 💚

Before most people notice the seasons changing, our crews are already out working in them. 🍂

They're watching the sun come up over substations, transmission lines, and job sites that look a little different than they did a few weeks ago. The temperatures are cooler, the leaves are beginning to turn, and another season is underway.

The work doesn't stop for a new season. Crews still gather before sunrise. Safety is still the first conversation of the day. Plans are reviewed, challenges are solved, and progress continues one task at a time.

While the landscape changes, the people behind the work remain the same, showing up with the skill, accountability, and ownership that power our communities every day.

Happy First Day of Fall from New River Electrical!

Construction is more than what gets built. It's the people who make it happen.

It's the crews who are already on the road before sunrise. The men and women who work through long days, changing weather, and unexpected challenges. The ones who look out for the person working beside them and take pride in a job done right.

Most people see the finished result. They see the lights come on, the roads open, the buildings stand tall, and the power stay on. They don’t always see the countless hours, sacrifices, and hard work it took to get there.

During National Construction Appreciation Week, we're taking a moment to recognize the people behind the work. Thank you to the tradespeople, operators, laborers, project teams, field crews, and support staff who keep our industry moving forward every day.

Your work matters, and it doesn't go unnoticed.
