🚧 Project Update: Montezuma Water Treatment Plant
MSI Construction is nearing completion of the new Montezuma Water Treatment Plant, a major investment in the community’s drinking water infrastructure.
This state-of-the-art facility features a reverse osmosis treatment system designed to significantly reduce nitrate concentrations and improve overall drinking water quality.
The project includes:
• A new water treatment plant building with backup generator
• Reverse osmosis treatment system
• High-service pumps and vertical pressure filters
• chlorine disinfection system & chemical feed systems
• Two 4,000-gallon steel detention tanks
• Office, laboratory, and restroom space for plant operations
• Upgrades to the town’s three existing wells, including new well pumps, SCADA integration and electrical improvements
This $6.5 million project addresses longstanding nitrate challenges and will help ensure safe, reliable drinking water for the Montezuma community.
MSI Superintendent Joe Aimone reports that the project is ahead of schedule, with the plant expected to be operational and distributing water system-wide by Summer 2026.
MSI Construction President John V. Major emphasized the local impact of the project: "This project is utilizing LOCAL UNION LABOR, LOCAL materials, and LOCAL subcontractors. The funds spent on this project will stay within the community."
