***Obituary for the best machine we have ever owned***
Somber day yesterday as we replaced the machine that changed the trajectory of our business. In March of 2018, we took out a loan for a 2013 Yanmar Vio55 excavator. Prior to this excavator, we used a skid steer for concrete removal. It was a complicated, time consuming process to tear out concrete with a wheeled skid steer.
The purchase of this excavator allowed removal time to be cut in half. In fact, removal was so quick that we had to buy a tandem axle truck to keep up with it.
We've put almost 3000 hours in this machine since we purchased it. We've asked it to do way more than we should of. . It was worn out. It was tired. So came the time to move on.
Seeing that excavator loaded up allowed us to reflect on how far we have come since the wheel barrow and pry bar days.
