The Alocasia Bambino Pink really hits different. 🌸
I’m especially loving the contrast between the high-pink variegation and those deep purple undersides. It’s going to be a fun journey watching these grow and evolve here at MisoGreens. 🌿✨

Pink, green, and a total dream. ☁️🌸

There is something truly special about the variegation on the Alocasia Chantrieri Pink.

It’s easily one of the most stunning additions to the collection here at MisoGreens!

at MisoGreens. This one is definitely staying in the "forever" pile! 🌿✨

Is your Tissue Culture ready for soil? 🌱🧪
Moving a baby plant from its cozy starter setup to a permanent home is a major milestone! Here is the checklist I use to make sure my Monstera Vieticosa Variegated is ready for the upgrade:

Check for Maturity: Look for hardened leaves and a strong, healthy root system visible through the pot.

The Cleanup: Gently remove the old moss and perlite to avoid stressing those delicate roots.

Substrate is Key: Use a chunky soil and substrate mix specifically for delicate systems and add a cotton wick to maintain consistent moisture.

The Pro Move: Make sure to pull that cotton wick down through the drainage holes and drench the soil thoroughly.

Pest Protection: Mist all the nooks and crannies with Uncle Jack’s Dead Bug Brew to protect that "new leaf incoming".

Just remember: Be patient. The best growth happens when you give them time to adjust!

3 months of neglect later... 🔊🌿

Actually, is it still neglect if you give them the perfect environment first? 😅

This Hoya Kerri spent 90 days in a cup of moss with no holes, thriving on nothing but humidity, warmth, and my "hope it doesn't die" vibes.

That sound you hear is the satisfying result of a plant that took its "alone time" very seriously.
Time for an upgrade and another round of her favorite long island iced tea cocktail! 🍹🦎

Seeing some of the rarest plant specimens in the world at the IAS Expo in Miami—and knowing many were imported from Southeast Asia—inspired me to go straight to the source. 🌏

In Thailand, plants that many consider to be "unicorns" grow wild or sit casually on doorsteps. But visiting the NYGarden lab in Bangkok showed me a completely different side of the industry.

Tissue Culture (TC) is essentially cloning on a microscopic level. A tiny piece of plant tissue is grown in a sterile, nutrient-rich gel (agar) to create perfect, pest-free copies. 🧬

Seeing the science behind the production inspired me to trade my hobbyist shelves for a professional setup. I’m moving to Columbus to build a dedicated, sterile lab and start creating.

Howdy, I am Tay- I run MisoGreens. You won't see many personal posts after this one, but let me use my first post to introduce myself. 🤠

About Me:

Plants evolved from a hobby into a profound fascination following my post-pandemic adult autism diagnosis, and provided my brain with a special interest that brought light to my life by connecting me with a vast network of plant enthusiasts worldwide.

It was so great to finally share, talk about things, and contribute with true enthusiasm - without needing a script.

Since plants first captured my interest, I found myself growing dedicated to mastering the fundamentals of plant care and propagation through personal research and many, many trials (and errors).

This process has taught me as much about myself as it has about horticulture.

The past year has been particularly exciting:

Attending the IAS show in Miami in 2025, where I witnessed exceptional specimens firsthand, and visiting a professional tissue culture lab in Bangkok in January 2026, where I gained insight into the science behind the industry. 🧪🌱

These experiences profoundly impacted me, demonstrating the possibilities and inspiring confidence in my ability to start a project that is a creature of very my own; MisoGreens. As a business, the plan is to build an inventory of tissue culture plants available for sale online.

As we relocate to Columbus this year, I am preparing to launch a professional-grade (non-GMP certified) Tissue Culture lab inside our new home. To prepare for building a sterile, specialized environment, I am currently rehoming the majority of my personal collection to make room for the new lab and its equipment.

I look forward to documenting this transition and sharing everything I learn along the way.

Out with the old, in with the science.🧪🧫🔬
