It's Wednesday and time to meet our working dog Jett!

Do not let the majestic looks fool you. Jett is a full-time, get-in-the-mud, nose-to-the-ground worker who takes his job very seriously. At 6.5 years old he has the experience to prove it.

His motto? Work hard, sleep harder. And we have the nap photos to back that up.

Off the clock Jett keeps things simple. Walks, backyard time, balls, and stuffies. A dog who knows how to decompress.

On the job he is all business. Herding geese is his thing and he is very, very good at it.

Want to work alongside dogs like Jett? We are hiring dog handlers across Ohio. Apply via the email link in our bio or comment DOGS below and we will reach out with more info.

Know someone who'd be great for this kind of work? Share this post with them!

A few goslings on the property. No big deal. Right?

They are cute. They are fuzzy. They follow their parents around in a little line. It is genuinely one of the best parts of spring.

Here is the part most people do not think about. Canada geese return to the same site every year, and they bring their families with them. The two geese that nested this spring become eight by midsummer. Next year, those eight become sixteen.

A small flock on a commercial property is not just a lawn issue. It is droppings on walkways and patios, turf damage from constant grazing, water quality concerns near ponds and storm drains, and slip risks where the public walks. Health departments and grounds crews both pay attention.

The good news: small flocks are easier to address before they grow. Learn more in our Field Guide on the website about how to protect your property.

Feeling blessed to live in a free country. Thank you to all those who have served, including our four-legged ones. This memorial is in the Cleveland Metroparks in Rocky River.

The Bond Is Real: I didn’t just get a role. I got a best friend with four paws.
There’s something special about working with a dog that really trusts you. Jet is crazy smart and somehow always knows what I’m about to do next. The bond builds day by day, and then one day you realize you’re a team. They’re watching you, you’re watching them, and you both know what you’re there to do.

And the funny part is, our dogs work hard… but they also love hard. They want to be with you, they want to play, and they want to do a good job. I never expected a job to be this fun and this meaningful at the same time, but Ohio Geese Control has been exactly that for me.

Want a job where your co-worker is your best friend? Send us a DM to apply.
You won't regret it.

Canada geese are federally protected. Once a nest is active on your property, you cannot move it or disturb it without a federal permit.

We know that is not what you want to hear when there is a goose blocking your front door. But the legal risk of acting without proper authorization is real.

We know the process and can help. Comment LAW below and we will reach out, or call us at 877-914-3373.

Today is National Rescue Dog Day 🐾❤️

At Ohio Geese Control, some of our hardest workers are also rescue dogs.

Meet Coop, Striker, Katt, Ben, and Ben 2.0. These incredible Border collies now spend their days helping protect properties, parks, businesses, and communities through humane geese control.

They’re smart, driven, loyal, and proof that rescue dogs can thrive when given purpose, training, and a second chance.

We’re grateful for every rescue organization, foster, adopter, and dog lover who helps amazing dogs find the lives they deserve.

If you’ve ever considered adopting, this is your sign 🐶

And if you love working outdoors, working with dogs, and being part of a unique team, we’re always excited to meet fellow dog lovers.

Drop a ❤️ for rescue dogs today or share a pic of your rescue dog in the comments.

So funny

You can rest easy, Ohio. The geese are in charge now. 🌽🪿💀

Meet Captain Honker, Sgt. Hissington, Lt. Waddle, Officer Stomps, and Commander Quacker — Ohio’s elite roadside enforcement division operating somewhere between a farm road, a pond, and your worst traffic nightmare. 😭

These feathered tyrants don’t need patrol cars.

They’ve got: • zero fear • unlimited attitude • and the legal authority of “because we said so.”

You’ll be driving peacefully through rural Ohio thinking life is good…

Then suddenly: traffic stops completely.

Not for construction. Not for an accident.

Because one goose decided to stand in the middle of the road and emotionally challenge everybody present. 💀

Nobody moves.

Pickup trucks wait patiently. School buses surrender immediately. Even Ohio State Troopers understand: this is goose jurisdiction now. 🪿🚔

And heaven help the tourist who says: “Aww look honey, let’s walk closer!”

Five seconds later they’re speed-waddling backward across wet grass while a furious cobra chicken launches into the air sounding like an angry air compressor possessed by pioneer spirits. 😭

Ohio geese operate with complete confidence because they know: • parks belong to them • ponds belong to them • golf courses belong to them • and technically your parking lot probably does too.

Meanwhile one retired Ohio dad is standing nearby with coffee saying: “Yep… they get mean this time of year.”

SIR. It is EVERY time of year. 💀

And somehow every goose confrontation in Ohio includes: • one loud HONK heard across the county • one child crying • one person dropping bread and running • and one goose slowly walking away like it just won a court case.

No fences. No backup. No mercy.

Just pure Midwestern dinosaur energy standing directly in traffic like they pay taxes there. 🌽🪿😭

See a nest with eggs and no goose in sight? Do not assume it is abandoned.

Canada geese wait until the very last egg is laid before they start incubating, so all goslings hatch at the same time. The nest may be active even when mom is not sitting on it yet.

Once a nest is active, it is federally protected. Contact us before you do anything, and we will help you through the process. Comment NEST below and we will reach out.

Our dogs did not get the memo that Spring showers also means multiple baths.

Rain, mud, ponds, puddles, and one very enthusiastic bath time after. This is what a working day looks like for an Ohio Geese Control Border collie in the Spring, and somehow they love every second of it.

Wet. Muddy. Completely locked in. Ready to do it all again tomorrow.

If working outside with a dog who genuinely loves their job sounds like your kind of thing, comment DOGS below and we will tell you more.
