We’re Hiring!
Experienced Equipment Operator
TN Dirt Pros is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing excavation and site-work team in the Cleveland, Tennessee area.
We are looking for a dependable, hands-on operator with real seat time—not someone who is just familiar with equipment. The right person should be able to safely and efficiently operate a variety of machines, including excavators, dozers, skid steers, compact track loaders, mini excavators, loaders, and other construction equipment as needed.
What you’ll do
• Operate excavators, dozers, skid steers, and other equipment on residential and commercial job sites
• Perform rough grading, finish grading, land clearing, site prep, driveway work, drainage work, and excavation
• Assist with septic-system installation, trenching, utility work, and other dirt-work projects when needed
• Read grades, follow plans, establish elevations, and work toward a finished product—not just move dirt
• Load trucks, manage material on site, and help keep jobs moving efficiently
• Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, greasing, and cleanup
• Work safely around crews, customers, utilities, trucks, and active job sites
• Help with general labor and job-site duties when equipment operation is not needed
What we’re looking for
• Proven experience operating construction equipment, especially excavators, dozers, and skid steers
• Ability to cut grade, shape slopes, build pads, rough grade, and finish grade with attention to detail
• Experience with site prep, drainage, septic, utilities, driveways, or excavation work is strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently, take direction, and understand what needs to be done on a job site
• Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and a professional attitude
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather and handle the physical demands of construction work
• Must be safety-minded and able to treat company equipment and customer property with care
Preferred qualifications:
• Valid driver’s license required
• Class B CDL preferred; Class A CDL is a major plus
• Experience hauling equipment, dump trucks, trailers, or operating trucks is a plus
• Experience with laser levels, machine control, GPS grading, or reading site plans is a plus
• Mechanical ability and willingness to help maintain equipment is a plus
Pay and schedule
Pay will be based on experience, equipment-operating ability, CDL qualifications, and overall reliability. We are looking for a long-term team member who takes pride in quality work and wants to grow with a solid local excavation company.
To apply, send your work history, equipment experience, CDL status and experience, and contact information to [email protected]
