Dallisgrass is one of the most common w**ds I get questions about, and unfortunately, it's also one of the toughest to control.
Dallisgrass is a clump-forming grassy w**d that grows aggressively during the summer and often stands out above the surrounding turf. Unlike many w**ds, it has a deep root system and can return year after year, making it difficult to eliminate with a single treatment.
Here's how we handle Dallisgrass in our lawn care program:
✅ Bermuda Lawns
• Minor infestations are typically spot-treated with a non-selective herbicide. This may temporarily damage the surrounding Bermuda, but the grass usually recovers and fills back in over time. This treatment is included in our standard 8-treatment program.
• Larger infestations may require selective herbicide treatments. These often take multiple applications and involve additional product costs, so an extra fee applies.
✅ Zoysia Lawns
Thanks to newer herbicide technology, we can selectively treat Dallisgrass in Zoysia lawns. This service is included in our standard 8-treatment program at no additional charge.
✅ Centipede Lawns
Dallisgrass control options are more limited in Centipede. In some situations, spot treatment with a non-selective herbicide can be done, but each lawn must be evaluated individually to determine the best approach.
Every lawn is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution for Dallisgrass. I'm committed to working with each customer to develop a treatment plan that fits their lawn's specific needs.
