What’s happening beneath the surface?
Most people will never see this part of the project, but it’s one of the most important.
We’re installing an underground stormwater detention system for this new development in Chattanooga. Once it’s completed, this entire system will be buried underground, where it will temporarily store rainwater during heavy storms.
Instead of overwhelming nearby drainage systems or causing flooding, the water is collected inside and released at a controlled rate. This helps protect the surrounding property, reduces erosion, and keeps local waterways healthier.

Installing a system like this takes much more than laying pipe:

Not every project starts with a flat lot.

This 3,200 sq. ft. homesite started as nothing but a steep dirt lot. Our crew loaded out over 100 loads of dirt, dug & poured the footer, built a full perimeter retaining wall, and transformed the property into a build ready site with an amazing view.

Caleb has been with the us for right under a year now, and in that short time he has learned fast, worked hard, and continued to grow every day. Coming into excavation with no prior experience, he never let that slow him down. His willingness to learn and strong work ethic have helped him move up quickly, and we’re thankful to have him on the team.

On this new construction site in Spring City, our residential team handled everything needed to get this property ready for the build process. It all starts underground, because what’s below the surface is what your home will stand on for years to come.

✔️ Lot cleared & trees removed
✔️ Basement excavation
✔️ House footer dug & prepped
✔️ Septic tank + field lines installed

Next up: footer and basement walls will be poured, followed by backfill and the basement slab. Every one of these steps plays a role in creating a strong, lasting foundation.
