Finding the problems is great, but what if the inspector just FIXED them too? πŸ˜‚πŸ”πŸ”¨

Brad's watching an inspection of a brand-new home, and the punch list starts growing pretty quickly.

Loose electrical outlets.

A toilet that's moving around, with somebody apparently attempting to solve the problem using a heroic amount of silicone. πŸ˜‚

Way too much caulk around the shower head.

And protective plastic that somehow got left behind during the tile installation.

To be fair, Brad does spot something he likes: the transition between the hardwood and tile looks great. Credit where credit is due. πŸ‘

But all these little issues give Brad a business idea.

What if there were home inspectors who didn't just walk around pointing things out?

They found the little problems AND fixed them on the spot.

Imagine getting an inspection report where half the items already say:

"Found it. Fixed it. Moving on."

Brad thinks homeowners would love them, contractors would love them, and that inspector's phone probably wouldn't stop ringing. Video from: .aj

THIS is how you know your AC installer cares about the trades coming behind them. πŸ‘β„οΈ

After the HVAC rough-in is complete, there are still plenty of messy stages left in a new build or remodel.

Drywall mud.

Sanding dust.

Paint.

Construction debris.

And without a little protection, some of that mess can end up inside your brand-new AC vents.

Brad shows a simple trick his HVAC installers use: they cut small pieces of duct board and temporarily place them inside the vent openings to keep everything covered while the other trades finish their work.

It's not complicated.

It probably doesn't take very long.

But it's exactly the kind of small detail Brad appreciates because it helps protect work that's already been completed.

Shoutout to the AC guys for thinking ahead. πŸ‘

Florida inspectors, can we PLEASE find another way to do this? πŸ˜‚πŸͺŸβ˜€οΈ

If you've ever wondered why those stickers are still sitting on brand-new windows at a Florida construction site, Brad explains the reason.

They need to stay there for inspection.

Those labels contain information used to verify the window product and its compliance, so removing them too early can create problems when it's time for the inspector to check the installation.

Sounds reasonable...

Until those stickers spend months sitting against glass in the Florida summer heat. β˜€οΈπŸ˜‚

By the end of the project, some of them can become extremely difficult to remove cleanly. Instead of simply peeling them off, someone may have to carefully scrape the residue from the glass.

Which means more labor for something everyone knew was eventually going in the trash anyway.

Brad's request?

There's got to be a better way to preserve the information inspectors need without baking stickers onto brand-new windows.

Those cabinets aren’t going ANYWHERE. πŸ˜‚πŸ’ͺ

Here’s something you don’t see on every kitchen remodel.

These cabinets are being installed on an interior block wall.

Why block inside the house?

Because this wall used to be an exterior wall before the home was changed and expanded.

That means installing cabinets requires a slightly different approach than fastening them to typical wood framing.

The team pre-drills through the cabinet and into the masonry, then uses Tapcon-style concrete fasteners to secure everything directly to the block.

And once you get multiple properly installed masonry fasteners holding that cabinet?

Brad’s pretty confident it’s staying right where they put it. πŸ˜‚

It's a great example of how remodeling existing homes often means adapting your installation methods to whatever you uncover behind the walls.

4 MILLION views? Okay, now I want to know why too. πŸ˜‚πŸ”¨

Brad points out something he's been noticing more and more online: women in the trades are getting serious attention on construction content.

And this drywall video is a perfect example.

4 million views. 100,000 likes.

Brad isn't criticizing the work either. In fact, he makes it clear that she's doing a great job.

What he's curious about is the internet.

There are thousands of drywall videos online showing similar work, so what made this particular video take off and reach millions of people?

Was it the technique?

The creator?

The algorithm?

Or is there something about seeing more women working in construction that's getting people to stop scrolling?

Brad wants to hear what you think.

Why did THIS drywall video get 4 million views? πŸ‘‡

He didn't run the electrical through the wall. He removed the wall from the electrical. πŸ˜‚βš‘

Sometimes electrical work requires opening up drywall to get wires where they need to go.

But this guy took "open up the drywall" very seriously.

Huge sections are getting cut out, and Brad is watching the wall disappear wondering how we got here. πŸ˜‚

Then the comments provide the only reasonable explanation:

"The homeowner said get it done by any means necessary."

Mission accomplished, apparently.

And while the electricians might be finishing their work, every drywall professional watching this video is probably thinking the same thing:

"Looks like work to me." πŸ˜‚

Sometimes opening drywall is unavoidable during a remodel, but planning access points carefully can make a big difference in how much repair work is waiting for the next trade.

There are few things in construction more frustrating than THIS. πŸ˜‚πŸ“

You're measuring something.

Everything is going perfectly.

Then suddenly...

The tape measure locks up.

It won't retract.

It won't move.

And now you're standing there pulling on it like somehow getting angrier is going to fix the problem. πŸ˜‚

Every contractor has had that moment where a tool that's supposed to make the job easier suddenly decides it's done working for the day.

At that point, you've got two choices: patiently figure out what's jammed...

Or start thinking about which new tape measure you're buying on the way home.

For homeowners in Tampa, Clearwater, Dunedin, Safety Harbor, Sarasota, and throughout the Tampa Bay area, Home Love Construction specializes in custom remodeling, renovations, additions, and professional construction, even when the tools occasionally decide not to cooperate. Video from:

That little water spot is trying to tell you something. πŸ‘€πŸ’§

Brad spots moisture forming at the bottom of a cabinet, and that's your first clue that something underneath the sink isn't quite right.

In this case, the problem is coming from the P-trap connection.

When one of those connections isn't seated properly, water can escape as it runs through the drain. And sometimes the leak is so small that you won't immediately see water pouring anywhere.

So Brad shows you what to look for:

Watch the connections closely and look for individual drops starting to form.

Once you've identified the leaking joint, the connection can be taken apart, checked, and properly reseated to create the seal it's supposed to have.

The important part is catching it early. A tiny drip underneath a sink can eventually become a much bigger cabinet problem if nobody notices it.

Shoutout to the electrician who knows we're not mind readers. πŸ˜‚βš‘

Before the cabinets go in, a kitchen can basically look like a bunch of wires sticking out of walls.

Which one is for the microwave?

Which one goes somewhere else?

Good luck remembering later. πŸ˜‚

That's why Brad appreciates what this electrician did. Each wire is clearly labeled right on the Romex, including one marked "micro" for the microwave.

Those little caps on the ends might look like something that came out of a Nerf gun, but the important part is knowing exactly where everything belongs when it's time to come back and finish the electrical.

It's a small habit that can save a lot of confusion once cabinets, appliances, and the rest of the kitchen start going in.

Label your work. The next person on the jobsite will thank you.

Here's an easy way to tell what we're planning to do with this door. πŸšͺπŸͺ΅

This new door showed up to the jobsite as unfinished wood, without that factory primer you'd typically expect on a door that's going to be painted.

And that gives you a pretty good clue about what's coming next.

When a wood product arrives without primer, it's often because the natural wood is intended to remain visible and receive a finish such as stain and a protective topcoat rather than being covered with paint.

In this case, the new wood door is replacing an older door that had been painted.

So we're going from hiding the wood to making the wood part of the design.

It's a relatively simple change, but a beautiful finished wood door can add warmth and character that completely changes the look of an entry.
