Pipe clamps and flex connector… but not a plumbing job. This isn’t one they teach you in school. But a little ingenuity can go a long way when something out of the ordinary comes along. A little creativity? Problem solved.

We had to re-secure this flagpole on a balcony after replacing the siding. It’s waaaay more secure than it was when we arrived.

If something in your house has subtly changed, it’s worth investigating.

Our whole house fan would be in for hours but the home’s interior temp wasn’t dropping. Furthermore, the air movement in front of open windows and doors wasn’t as strong as it used to be. So, I went up into the attic to investigate.

Sure enough, the duct had pulled away from the motor. So, air was just blowing around in my attic and not drawing the cool air in from outside.

I moved the motor one roof rafter closer to the ceiling grille so it wasn’t as stretched and taped up the tear.

Not an ideal Sunday morning, but attics are waaay better in the morning. And I didn’t want to wait another week wondering.

Don’t put off investigating something that doesn’t seem right in your house. And if you’re at a complete loss, ask a professional… like me.

If love to help you take your next step.

This is the second bathroom I’ve done for this wonderful couple. They are great clients! I love working with them.

The existing bathroom was dated for sure. What photos don’t show is the faucets just didn’t work or leaked profusely. It was definitely time for an overhaul.

Not all my work is pretty. Years ago my floor started sagging because a beam was installed with a knot in the lower half of the beam (knots should always be in the upper half of a beam). So I initially attempted to jack up my house with my truck jack after dragging a chunk of concrete under the house and a 4x6. It was a band aid to avoid further sagging.

Fast forward a few years: I bought two, new six ton jacks to raise the house back to its original elevation. Using shims and a piece of 3/4” plywood, my team and I brought the house back to level. You can see how much it sagged because that’s the same 4x6. We secured everything with the plywood plates on either side of the 4x6.

The floor feels much more solid now. If you need help with a failing home, please reach out. We’ll help you take your next steps and make it right.

My friend had a break in at his place in Clayton (of all places!). We were able to make the place secure right before he headed out of town for a few days for work. Now to find a replacement!

Hope can I help you take your next steps?

This was a challenging one in countless ways but perseverance was the name of the game. This once cramped and tired kitchen is now open and airy. We moved openings and changed their size. The cabinet layout is great. The finishes are well thought out. It was definitely worth the effort.

This family experienced a small kitchen fire the weekend before Thanksgiving. The insurance company dragged their feet for a long time so it was important to get them back into their home ASAP. Living in a hotel through the holidays with young children is not ideal. We were able to give them their kitchen back in six weeks once approvals came through.

Gratitude. As I walked away for the last time from this home, that's what I was filled with. It's rare that a project fills an owner's eyes with tears of joy for their new space. She had dealt with this old '60's kitchen for too long. Now it's time these upgrades (more space, fully functioning appliances, fresh materials, etc.) serve her well. She was a joy to work with/for. I am grateful for her and our relationship.

When dealing with changes to a structure, one has to be very systematic about the approach so as not to compromise the structure's integrity. When we removed this load-bearing wall on a kitchen remodel project, careful planning and proper equipment provided a recipe for success.

Temporary walls were erected to take the load of the wall first. Second, we removed the load-bearing wall and replaced it with the specified beams and posts. Next, we transferred the load to the newly installed beams and posts. Finally, we dismantled the temporary walls to reuse the material elsewhere on the project. "I love it when a plan comes together."
