And that’s a wrap.

On spring flowers, that is.

From the first tulips at the end of January, to crazy-early warm weather, late frosts, prom season, a few wedding bouquets, two college graduations, Mother’s Day, and the final days of peony season, I feel like I just got tossed out of an E5 tornado.

I’m not entirely sure which way is up, but I do know one thing: if I don’t get the rest of my summer flowers planted, there won’t be any flowers. Turns out they don't grow themselves.

So that’s where I’ll be for the next couple of weeks—digging in the dirt, planting plugs, sowing seeds, and dreaming about armloads of summer blooms.

We do have a handful of dahlias starting to bloom, but my focus right now is getting the rest of my summer flowers planted . If you need a bouquet, please reach out. The Petal Porch may be a little hit-or-miss for the next month or so, but before long it will be overflowing with all the flowers summer has to offer.

Until then, enjoy a few of my favorite spring memories. 🌷

Despite annoying you 300+ days out of the year… she’s still your person.

The one you call with good news, bad news, or just to hear a familiar voice.

And somehow, Mother’s Day is less than two weeks away. (I know… how?)

So let’s celebrate the moms, the bonus moms, the grandmothers, and the ones who show up like moms.
Mother’s Day offerings are officially live on the website.

This year’s options include mason jar arrangements (perfect if you’ve got multiple moms to love on) along with a few larger bouquet options.

And for those who need it—Mother’s Day isn’t easy for everyone.

If you’re missing your mom or quietly carrying a lot this season, this is your permission to buy yourself the flowers. No reason needed.

Pre-orders are strongly encouraged—once I’m fully booked, that’s it.

Don’t be the “I forgot” text. Order now.

I’ve had to pick and choose my battles this week—and just like with kids and husbands, flowers are no different.

To get all of my dahlia tuber orders out (🎉), something had to give… and for a couple of days, it’s the fresh bouquets.

So, the Petal Porch will be closed briefly while I get every order packed up and on its way.

But don’t worry—once everything ships, we’ll be right back to our regularly scheduled program… and peonies are up next.

Tulip season is winding down, and what a beautiful run it’s been. The field tulips had their moment in the sun, and now we’re savoring the last few varieties of our indoor forced blooms.

One of the final standouts is this creamy little gem. It came in as a substitute for a longtime favorite yellow of mine, and honestly… it surprised me in the best way. It leans more soft cream than yellow, with the prettiest raspberry-kissed edges—reminding me so much of Belicia (truly the gold standard, if you ask me).

If you’re a sucker for those soft, romantic tones with just a hint of drama, this one’s for you. And consider this your gentle nudge—once these last stems are gone, tulip season will officially close its doors for the year.

Easter is such a sweet time to pause, reflect, and rejoice in our Risen Savior.

It’s also one of the best reasons to gather with the people we love and soak in all the blessings around us.

And this year—since Easter came a little early—I have an abundance of tulips just waiting to be shared with you. Truly, they’re at their peak and showing off in the prettiest way.

From today through Saturday, the cooler will be stuffed to the gills with fresh blooms—mason jars, sleeves, and even a few reduced bundles so you can take home a little extra joy.

All arrangements are $25 unless marked otherwise.

If you find yourself needing something simple and beautiful for your table or your home, they’ll be here waiting. 🌷

A million thank yous to everyone who showed up and showed out for my dahlia sale on Saturday. I’m so grateful for the way you continue to support my little flower dream—it truly means more than you know.

As noted on the website, orders will begin shipping in mid-April. It will take me a week or two to work through them all, but I’ll be doing everything I can to get your dahlias to you as quickly as possible.

I may do a small restock in a couple of weeks, but right now my focus is getting current orders packed and on their way.

And to those of you who follow along, cheer me on, and enjoy the flowers from afar—thank you. Your support matters just as much, and I’m so glad you’re here.

Reminder that our dahlia tuber on-line sale begins Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.

Later tonight, I’ll be closing the shopping tab on the website to enter quantities—it will reopen right at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow.

I know I promised to bombard you with dahlia photos over the last couple of weeks but time has flown by and somehow tulips have continued to take center stage.

That said—dahlia season is very much on my mind, and I’m so excited to finally share these with you.

This year includes a few especially unique varieties, namely KA’s® Keltie Rose and KA’s® Rosie Jo along with Levi’s Blue Smoke and Levi’s Revenant. I continue to work to increase my stock of these varieties (along with several other treasures) but it often takes several seasons. Regardless, I’m happy to have a handful to share.

A couple other favorites of mine are Bloomquist York, Bloomquist Alan, Bloomquist Crave. Iced Tea is one of my favorites along with Miss Amara, Coseytown Gale, Black Satin, Rococo, Alamode and All That Jazz.

Truthfully, I don’t grow a dahlia I don’t love—so there’s no wrong choice. They’ll all be beautiful in your garden.
If you’re planning to shop the sale, I’d recommend taking a few minutes today to browse the website and make your list before the tab closes tonight. It makes checkout much smoother once the sale opens.

I’d hate for you to miss them this year.

My Word of the Year for 2026 is Embrace.

Today, I embraced a difficult thing. Well… maybe “embraced” is a strong word—but I showed up, faced my fear of public speaking, and lived to tell the story.

I had the pleasure of speaking this morning at the Mountain Ivy Garden Club’s Spring Symposium. I was nervous, my hands trembled, and I definitely needed water about halfway through. But I chose to speak about something I love—dahlias—and the more I talked, the more excited I became for the season ahead. I hope that love came through.

Many, many thanks to the ladies of the Garden Club for inviting me. They truly go the extra mile to make this event beautiful and thoughtful—right down to the smallest details (like pink hand soap and flowered napkins in the restrooms). It’s a top-notch event, and one worth putting on your calendar for next year.
