Hi there! To introduce ourselves, we’re Sierra and Ethan, the crafters behind Oaklore.
To tell a little about me, Sierra, I started crafting as early as childhood. Mind you, my early art was poorly drawn watercolor paintings of my family dog and popsicle crafts with grandma 😂🥰 Over the years though, my art blossomed. Then, on some random day in my teenage years, I purchased a simple woodburning pen from Michaels; and that’s I discovered my love for pyrography. From there, I began selling at bazaars and enjoyed being a young entrepreneur. But, things died down when I went off to college and ended up turning my crafting time into homework time. It’s not till recently I have picked up the burning pen again and have rekindled my artistic side. Now, my new work is more detailed, rustic, and inspired by folklore.
To talk about Ethan, his dad is a carpenter, who runs his own business. At an early age, Ethan would be out there by his father’s side helping pick up wood scraps. Through his years of learning carpentry from is dad, he found an interest for woodworking. For instance, as his 1 year anniversary gift to me back in high school, he poured his heart into making a hand-carved purple heart wood necklace. Now, Ethan’s craft is inspired with wood carving techniques and natural design.
Overall, we are excited to launch Oaklore! The name is a spin off of the words “Oak” and “Folklore;” which reflects that our work is based around woodworking and often inspired by folklore stories.
