🏠 Tile Roof Transformation – Part 3 | TPO, Copper & Spanish Tile
This part of the project takes us over the covered carport area, where we’re working with both tile and a low-slope TPO roofing system.
In this video, we start by removing the old tile and carefully cleaning off the existing copper ledge. We then remove the old EPDM roofing and install a new TPO roofing system.
The existing copper scupper was carefully removed and reinstalled with a new TPO liner, properly tying everything back into the new roofing system.
On the tile section, we installed high-temperature underlayment over the copper ledge, followed by the new Spanish S-tile. We finished the corners with the Lion Head accent tiles, which really bring some of the character and detail of this roof back to life.
There’s a lot going on in this one area—TPO, copper, high-temp underlayment, Spanish tile, and detailed finishing work—and it all has to come together correctly.
✅ This section of the roof is complete, but we’re nowhere near finished with this project!
There’s still a lot more to show you, so follow along as we continue working our way through this one-of-a-kind tile roof.

🏠 Tile Roof Transformation – Part 2
Here’s a closer look at what goes into replacing an old barrel tile roof with new Spanish S-tile.

In this video, I’m working from the lift and taking you through the process—from removing the first barrel tile to getting the new S-tile installed.

The old barrel tile was installed using wood lath/battens because the tiles alternate—one facing up and one facing down. Our new S-tile has that shape built into each tile, so the old lath system is no longer needed.

We removed the old tile, wood lath and felt down to the roof decking. 👍 The decking in this area was in good condition, so we moved forward with new high-temperature underlayment followed by the new Spanish S-tile.

And of course, a little time-lapse at the end so you can watch the new roof start coming together!

🏠 DAY 1 — Part 1~~ All Starts With the Delivery!

We’ve already shown you a couple looks at this project, but now we’re going back to the beginning and taking you through this tile roof project from Day 1 to completion.

And a project like this starts with a BIG delivery. 🚛

This load included the Spanish roof tile, hip & ridge pieces, Lion Head tiles, end caps, TPO materials, underlayment, and more — all carefully unloaded and staged next to the home before work begins.

There’s a lot more that goes into a tile roof than just the field tile you see from the ground. Throughout this series, we’re going to show you the different pieces, the tear-off, what we find underneath, the installation process, and the details that bring the finished roof together.
