*ABOUT THE RACE*

IT to honor the legacy of Medal of Honor Recipient MSG Roy Benavidez.

*Who is MSG Roy Benavidez:*
M/Sgt. (then S/Sgt.) Roy P. Benavidez, United States Army, who distinguished himself by a series of daring and extremely valorous actions on 2 May 1968 while assigned to Detachment B-56, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), 1st Special Forces, Republic of Vietnam.

*What happened:*
During the six hours of continuous operations, Benavidez suffered a broken jaw and 37 bullet and bayonet puncture wounds. he ran into enemy fire armed with only a knife to save his fellow soldiers and ended up saving 8 soldiers during an intense battle in 1968. Jan 1, 1970.

*Need to know*
Winners of the run and ruck (male & female) will have to remain on the course for the full 6 hours and complete a distance over 26.2, and the longest distance will be the wi
