BREAKING NEWS FROM CLARKESVILLE!

After YEARS of getting away with it, the owner of Carpenter’s Corner & Village Bazaar has finally been caught… 😳

THE offense?

👮 WORKING WAY TOO HARD AT 80 YEARS OLD! 😂

Authorities say the suspect has been spotted:

🌱 Working around the garden center
🏗️ Selling buildings
🛍️ Keeping up with the flea market
🔨 Working on projects
🚜 Moving things around that he probably shouldn't be moving
😂 And apparently REFUSING to learn what the word “retirement” means!

When questioned, the 80-year-old suspect reportedly said:

“I’ve got work to do.” 🤦‍♀️😂

We tried explaining that most people slow down at 80…

He was not interested.

So unfortunately, we had no choice.

🚔 ARRESTED FOR EXCESSIVE WORKING.

His sentence?

🪑 Sit down.
🥤 Drink something.
😴 Take a break.
🚫 And absolutely NO starting another project for at least 15 minutes.

Parole is unlikely because we already know he won't follow the rules. 😂😂

❤️ All jokes aside, we're pretty lucky to have Mr. Michael Gill who still works harder than half of us!

I was so glad to get the 600 mums repotted, it seemed like we never would get them done.

Big growers that do thousands of plants have a much better system to get it done.

Our mums should be ready this fall, think of us here at Carpenters corner when you are ready to do your fall planting

Just when your faith in humanity begins to fail just a little bit and you wonder what’s becoming of the world you used to know something like this note takes place.

We were already closed when this customer pulled in. I don’t know what time they came by, but it had to be after 6 PM in the evening. They helped themselves to the boiled peanuts that are always outside the door, not locked up and left this gracious note with the money for the hot boiled peanuts.

 it was a nice surprise on a Sunday morning and restore your faith in humanity.

Not the first time this has happened won’t be the last time, people are basically honest.

Thank you to the person that left a note with the money, it was a particularly nice blessing, no matter how large or small. It was a blessing that was needed and appreciated.

Never a dull moment at Carpenters Corner. We ordered 600 mum plugs for fall sale and got them started in 4 inch cups, that was a mistake. We should’ve started them in 8 inch pots, so now I am having the time of my life repotting 600 mums.

Each Mum plant requires 16 inches of space and the plants cannot touch each other while they’re growing for whatever reason. I am running out of space.

As I sit here early in the morning, I get them aware of the fact that we are never too old to learn something new. Never potted mums in my life and I am now doing it at 80

They’ll be ready in October 6 different colors available and Carpenters Corner 390 Grand Heights Circle in Clarkesville.

Keep us in mind this fall and stopping and see us.

I always grin when I read what's on your mind. Some days I operate in perfect clarity; other days I am in a dense London fog. Life at 80 seems to be like that, but I am glad to be here. Potting Mums today; it was only 94 or so, a perfect day to hang out by the greenhouse!!!!
That's a random thought; I get them every so often. The thought that I just located rambling around where sensible brains used to reside (really folks, who in their right minds would stand out in the sun potting 600 mums in 94-degree heat) is I need to get another one of these swings built, designed it myself, in younger days, it is a 5 foot swing that can seat 3 people comfy, or two people each with a tumbler of bourbon over the rocks, complete with a drop down table with drink holders. Great idea when the ride gets rough.

Back in June of this year, I turned 80!!!! Flipping unbelievable that I lasted that long. More unbelievable is the fact I am still working (slower) 7 days a week. Still building swings (slower), still running saws (slower), still have all my fingers (almost) and still loving every minute of every day (sorta).

We are headed toward fall, and it is fall swing time. If you need a swing and a stand, a custom porch swing, swing bed, or any one of a thousand other items, stop by and see us at Carpenters Corner, 390 Grandis Heights Circle, in Clarkesville, Ga
