This right here means more to us than people probably realize. 💜💚
When I started Cutting For A Cause, this was exactly what I wanted people to feel — helped, respected, comfortable, and never judged for needing a hand.
Rachelle, thank you for sharing this and for speaking so openly about your experience with us. Sometimes people look at someone’s home, job, vehicle, or outward circumstances and assume they must be doing fine, but life doesn’t work that way. Hard seasons, illness, rising costs, fixed incomes, and unexpected circumstances can affect any family.
Needing help does not make anyone less deserving of kindness.
To hear someone say that we made them feel comfortable and that meeting us was a blessing truly touches my heart, because that is the whole purpose behind Cutting For A Cause Lawn Care Services, LLC.
We are also so happy that through this campaign, we’re going to be able to help Rachelle again. This is CFAC-26-03 — 💜💚

When you look at someone’s home from the outside, you may see a beautiful house, nice vehicles, and think, “They’re doing fine.”
But you never really know what is happening behind those doors.

Health problems can change everything.
When sickness becomes part of everyday life, things that once seemed simple — cutting the grass, maintaining the yard, fixing something around the house — can suddenly become impossible. Bills don’t stop coming. Things still break. And sometimes you’re simply trying to make it through another day.

I understand that more than I wish I did.
I remember being sick and wanting nothing more than to sit outside, look at my yard, breathe some fresh air and feel the sunshine. Sometimes even that little bit of normalcy can mean everything when the rest of life feels like it is falling apart.

That is what I thought about while working on this yard.

Maybe I can’t fix someone’s health. Maybe I can’t pay every bill. Maybe I can’t solve every problem they’re facing.

But if I can give someone a clean yard, a place to sit outside, a little peace when they look out their window, and one less thing to worry about — then that is something I CAN do.

Sometimes that little breath of fresh air is enough to remind somebody that there is still hope.
And that same lesson applies to me.

I have been going business to business and door to door asking for sponsorships for these families. I’m going to hear “no.” Probably a lot of them.

But I only need to keep going until I hear the next

YES.

And I will.

I will get more sponsors. I will reach our campaign goals. I will get that zero-turn mower. And I will keep helping families like CFAC-26-03 and the others who simply need somebody willing to show up.

Because you never know when life is going to change.

You never know when YOU may be the person wishing someone would come along and say:
“I can’t fix everything…but I can help with this.”
That is what Cutting For A Cause is here to do. 💜💚

Yesterday, Cutting For A Cause had the opportunity to step in and help another member of our community who has been carrying far more than most people realize.
This project was about more than cutting grass and cleaning up a yard. It was about taking one burden off someone’s shoulders during an already difficult season of life.
We don’t share every detail of the situations behind these projects, because privacy matters. But we do want people to see what community support can accomplish when someone simply needs a helping hand.

🎃👻 CUTTING FOR A CAUSE IS JOINING THE TRICK OR TRUNK! 👻🎃
Cutting For A Cause Lawn Care Services, LLC will be joining Goat Island Restaurant and Safe Harbor Clarendon for their Trick or Trunk event!
📅 Saturday, October 24, 2026 ⏰ 4 PM - 6 PM 📍 Goat Island Restaurant
We’ll be decorating our trailer for Halloween, dressing up in costume, and passing out candy to the kids! 🍬🎃
This is a FREE community event, and businesses and individuals can still sign up for a Trick or Trunk spot. Candy donations are also being accepted to help make sure there’s plenty for all the kids.
We love being part of events that bring our community together, and we’re especially happy to support an event connected with Safe Harbor Clarendon and the important work they do for victims and survivors.

Our campaign ends October 19th, and we still need sponsors to complete the yards we committed to for families in our community who truly need help.
Sponsorships cover the man-hours, mileage, fuel, hauling, equipment use, and other costs required to complete these projects. Some are major jobs, including the yard we worked on over the last two days, which still needs additional work.
At the same time, 100% of the money raised supports Cutting For A Cause, including our biggest equipment goal: replacing our 42-inch residential mower with a 60-inch zero-turn mower.

We need this mower as soon as possible and before next season. Larger paying jobs are already available, including work that can continue through the winter, but we lack the equipment to complete them efficiently.

💜💚 CFAC-26-01 — DAY 2 PROGRESS 💚💜
John and I went back out yesterday and tackled the backyard for Family CFAC-26-01. This has been a BIG job, and we’re still not completely finished, but the difference from where we started is incredible.
Between Friday and Saturday, the two of us have put in just over 16 combined labor hours on this property.
And when we talk about mileage, it adds up fast because we have needed two vehicles to haul ourselves, equipment, and supplies back and forth.
🚗 Friday: about 48 miles round trip per vehicle
🚙 Saturday: 49.7 miles round trip per vehicle
➡️ With two vehicles making those trips, that’s about 195 total vehicle miles put into this one project so far.
That means fuel, wear and tear, equipment use, and a whole lot of work — but this is exactly why we started Cutting For A Cause Lawn Care Services, LLC.
Sometimes a family just needs somebody willing to show up and help them get a fresh start. 🌱
CFAC-26-01 is still available for sponsorship, and every sponsorship helps us cover the actual cost of taking on projects like this and keeps us moving toward the equipment we need to serve even more families.
