Started by our brother Jim, and our Mother and Father, our family business began as a small sod farm and landscape company on Grand Island, NY in 1966. In 1967, the family purchased Lakeside Sod Supply in Clarence Center, N.Y. Since then, the sod farm has increased 10-fold in size and we have added many new products – seed, fertilizer, sports field infield mixes and other turf-related products. Af

Dead lawn? Save this video as a complete guide to bring it back to life using our Lakeside Sod Topdressing Soil. ☀️🌿

Step 1: Aerate (poke holes) in the lawn. This gives space for your first layer of topdressing to settle evenly into.

Step 2: Apply a thin, even layer of topdressing soil across the lawn. Rake or level it out so the material fills in low spots and spreads consistently.

Step 3: Lay seed – we used Barenbrug HGT Kentucky Bluegrass.

Step 4: Apply another skim coat of topdressing soil.

Step 5: Finish with Andersons Starter Fertilizer with Meso. This gives your seed everything it needs for germination, and the meso blocks weeds.

Let the grass grow through, keep up with regular watering and maintenance, and watch your lawn come back to life!
