My favorite plant of the month.
" Acacia" low tight. Mound forming, grows only 3" high but can spread up to 4'/5" wide. Drought tolerant cold hardy to 25. Beautiful along a retaining wall or along rocks/dry creek bed.

Before and after. Grass had hard time growing, so we removed all grass but a small section, put in a DG walk path all way around yard and filled rest in with bark.

Don't want to wait for spring color? This beauty will give you a show in late winter, Pieris Japonica.
Another evergreen, with tiny oleander looking leaves, clusters of tiny bell shaped flowers, in either pink or white. This beauty likes morning sun but prefers afternoon shade . Can grow 4 feet tall to just as wide. Slow to medium growth.
