Most people have no idea what backflow even is until it becomes a problem. Basically, it's when water flows the wrong way; instead of going out of your pipes, it reverses and can pull contaminants back into your clean water supply.

That's what a backflow prevention device is for. If you've got an irrigation system or fire sprinklers, you've probably got one installed already, whether you knew it or not. It just needs to be tested once a year to make sure it's actually doing its job.

If you're not sure when yours was last checked, might be worth finding out.

Did you know? In NJ, backflow devices must be tested every year by a licensed tester — skip it, and an undetected failure could send contaminated water into the whole neighborhood's tap. 💧

Not worth the risk. Book your backflow test today — link in bio.

People think being an HVAC tech is just fixing broken ACs, but most days it's a little bit of everything. This morning started with an emergency call from a family whose system died overnight, then straight into a routine maintenance check a few streets over, then wrapping up an install before lunch. No two days really look the same.

What people don't see is how much of this job is just... paying attention. Catching the small stuff before it turns into the big stuff. A weird noise here, a part that's wearing down there; most of the time the fix is easy if you catch it early enough.

Proud of the work, even on the long days.

Is Your AC Secretly Struggling? Here's How to Tell:
1️⃣ Weak or Uneven Airflow – if it's blowing but not cooling, your compressor or refrigerant levels might be the issue.
2️⃣ Strange noises (banging, clicking, hissing) – these are early warning signs of a bigger AC repair down the road.
3️⃣ It’s running but Not Cooling – Your thermostat setting and the actual room temp don’t match.

Don't wait for a full breakdown in the middle of a heatwave. 🌡️ A quick AC tune-up now can save you hundreds in emergency repair costs later.

Smart home upgrades that improve comfort and efficiency.

A lot of homeowners think upgrading means a full system replacement, but sometimes it starts with smaller, smarter changes.

Things like a smart thermostat, better air filtration, zoning controls, or upgrading to a high-efficiency HVAC system can help your home stay more comfortable without constantly adjusting settings or overworking your system.

We’ve seen homes go from uneven temperatures and high energy bills to much more consistent comfort just by improving how the system is controlled and maintained.
If your home never quite feels “right,” smart upgrades might make more of a difference than you think.

What not to put down your garbage disposal.

We see a lot of kitchen plumbing issues that start with the disposal being used like it can handle everything, but it can’t.

Things like grease, coffee grounds, eggshells, pasta, rice, and fibrous foods (like celery or onion skins) are some of the most common causes of clogs and slow drains.
Even if it seems like it’s going fine, these materials can build up over time and lead to bigger plumbing problems later on.

A quick rule of thumb: if it’s thick, starchy, or stringy, it’s better off in the trash than the drain.

A little prevention in the kitchen can save you from a messy plumbing call later.

Summer plumbing problems homeowners should watch for.

Warmer weather brings a few plumbing issues that tend to show up more often, and most homeowners don’t notice them until they get worse.

Things like slow drains after heavy kitchen use, garbage disposals getting clogged from cookouts, toilets running more than usual, or even sewer odors can start small and turn into bigger plumbing repairs if ignored.

We see a lot of service calls during the summer that could’ve been prevented with a quick check or simple maintenance.

If something in your home has been draining slower than usual or just doesn’t seem right, it’s usually worth getting it looked at early.
