Not every wildflower is harmless. Knowing the morphological differences between Queen Annes lace and Poison Hemlock can protect people and pets.

Poison Hemlock has smooth hollow stems with purple blotches, while Queen Annes lace has hairy stems and a more delicate appearance. Proper identification matters before touching or removing either plant.

Poison Hemlock is highly toxic if ingested or handled improperly.

🌧️ Watering properly is one of the most important things you can do for the long-term health of your trees and landscape plants. Most established plants only need about 1 inch of water per week during the growing season, including rainfall. Deep, infrequent watering encourages stronger root systems, while shallow daily watering can lead to weak roots and stress.

Newly planted trees and shrubs require more attention during establishment. Consistent moisture is critical, but so is avoiding overwatering. Saturated soils can reduce oxygen availability and contribute to root decline just as drought stress can.

Before watering, check the soil several inches below the surface and always water slowly and deeply across the entire root zone. Healthy roots = healthier plants. 🌳💧
