The weather has suddenly decided to be our friend !!!
A ton of homeowners are about to fire up their outside hose faucets for the first time… and every single year we get the same panic call: “HELP! My basement is flooded!” They washed the cars, hosed the sidewalks, driveway, and patio… then walked downstairs and found everything ruined. Don’t let this happen to you.
Quick 2-minute safety check:
1.Turn on the faucet outside with a hose attached
2. Have someone (or run inside yourself) check the wall and floor directly inside and below that faucet after just a few minutes of use If it’s leaking even a little, shut it off immediately. Catching a broken hose faucet in the first 5 minutes saves you HOURS of clean up and water damage in the thousands in repairs.

With temperatures hitting the 50s today, that foot of snow on the ground is going to turn into a lot of groundwater fast. Your sump pump is about to go into "overtime" mode!
Take 5 minutes today to give it a quick checkup:
1. Visual Inspection: Make sure the pit is clear of debris.
2. The Bucket Test: Pour a 5-gallon bucket of water into the pit.
3. The Result: Your pump should kick on immediately and clear the water.

❄️Winter Storm Alert! ❄️A cold, snowy weather system is headed our way—time to prep your home to stay cozy and avoid any surprises!Here are 5 quick tips for your Plumbing and HVAC systems:

1.Detach those hoses! If you haven't removed garden hoses from outdoor faucets yet, do it now to prevent freezing and bursts.

2.Steady your thermostat. HVAC units can struggle in extreme cold—skip the energy-saving setbacks and keep it at a constant temp for reliable warmth.

3.Protect your pipes. For plumbing on exterior walls, open cabinet doors to let warm air circulate. If any faucets have frozen before, let them drip slowly overnight.

4.Seal in the heat. Close blinds and curtains to trap warmth inside. Feel a draft under exterior doors? Roll up a towel and place it at the base.

5.Backup plan ready. Have a safe, reliable space heater on hand for emergencies—just in case!

Thanksgiving Garbage Disposal Tips:
1. Don't overload your garbage disposal, put any large amounts of food in a trash can.
2. Always have water running when using disposal
3. Turn on water and disposal before putting food in it.
4. Avoid bones, string like substances and anything that expands when water is added ( like pasta)
5. Water, water , water, continue to run water for a few minutes to wash away debris into larger pipes after the job is complete
