Lining vs. digging

A customer noticed moisture coming through their cinder block wall below an interior sewer cleanout. A previous contractor suspected a cracked sewer line and recommended lining it.

We ran a camera and found more than a crack. The cast iron sewer line had completely broken and separated. Sewage had likely been leaking beneath the concrete long enough to create a sinkhole.

The first picture is inside the sewer looking with the camera, the second photo is once we uncovered the sewer line.

A liner wasn’t going to fix this one.

We excavated the area, replaced the damaged pipe, backfilled properly, and repoured the concrete. 💪

Sometimes lining is the perfect solution. Sometimes excavation is unavoidable.

📹 Diagnose first. Repair second.

With all the rain we've had in Maryland, now's a great time to check your sump pump.
Make sure it's plugged in, the float switch moves freely, and water is actually discharging outside, a stuck float is all it takes for a flooded basement.
If it's running nonstop, or not running at all, message us here or give us a call.

A leaking pipe is NOT the time to start figuring out where your main water shutoff is.

Take 5 minutes today and locate it. Fall is a great time to locate it, and make sure it turns. Main shutoff valves can look a little different and may be located in a basement, utility area, crawlspace, or even behind an access panel.

Knowing where it is and how to shut it off can make a HUGE difference if a pipe bursts or a plumbing emergency happens.

Find it. Make sure everyone in the house knows where it is. And don’t bury it behind 47 boxes of Christmas decorations.

Not sure what you’re looking at? Pipeline Pro Solutions LLC can help.

Roots don't need a front door to get into your pipes—they find the smallest hairline crack and grow until the flow stops. By the time you notice a slow drain, the damage is often done. We use trenchless lining to seal those cracks for good without digging up your beautiful landscaping. Have a tree near your sewer line? It might be time for a quick camera inspection. Call or message us for a free camera inspection.

A slow drain is often the only warning sign you'll get before a total sewer backup. 🛑 We used our sewer camera to catch this heavy grease buildup before it became a midnight emergency. Most store-bought cleaners can't touch this sludge—it takes specialized descaling to get things flowing again. Have you noticed your drains gurgling lately? Don't wait for the backup—let's take a look. 🏠💧

Let’s talk grease….Grease might go down the drain as a liquid… but it does NOT stay that way.

It cools.
It hardens.
It builds up.

Eventually, it turns into this thick, nasty sludge that chokes your sewer line and leads to backups.

Now here’s where it gets worse…

A lot of people try to “fix” a slow or clogged drain by dumping store-bought drain cleaner down the line. On a sewer line like this, that can be a really bad move.

Those chemicals:

* Don’t clear heavy grease buildup like this
* Sit in the pipe and create heat
* Can weaken or damage older piping (especially cast iron or compromised lines)
* Make the situation more dangerous for anyone who has to open that line up later

So instead of fixing the problem, you’re adding another layer to it.

Best move?

* Keep grease out of your drains completely (trash it, don’t rinse it)
* If things start slowing down, get it checked early before it turns into this

Because once it gets to this point… you’re not talking about a quick fix anymore.

You’re talking about digging, cutting, and replacing.

And trust me, nobody wants to get to that stage. ’tHaveTo

Winter beat your house up a little more than you think… and summer is about to expose it.

As we move from freezing temps to heat and humidity, this is when a lot of hidden issues start showing up. Small problems turn into big ones fast.

Here are a few things homeowners should keep an eye on right now:

• Drains slowing down or gurgling
• Musty or sewer-type smells inside or outside
• Soggy spots in the yard that weren’t there before
• Water pressure changes
• Unusual spikes in your water bill
• Basement or crawlspace moisture

Cold weather can shift pipes, crack fittings, and let roots sneak in. Then summer heat hits, everything expands, and that’s when failures happen.

If something feels off, don’t ignore it. Catching it early is always cheaper, cleaner, and way less stressful than dealing with a full-blown emergency later.

If you’re not sure what you’re seeing, we’re always happy to take a look and give you real answers.

Stay ahead of it and enjoy the warm weather without the surprises ’tHaveTo

This is one of our go-to machines for cleaning sewer and drain lines.

Those chains spin at high speed and break up roots, grease, and buildup inside the pipe so we can get the line flowing again—and actually see what’s going on with the camera after.

Not the prettiest job… but it gets the job done right.
