Our company was awarded a trip for 2 to Cabo San Lucas with Corteva for hitting some purchase goals. Instead of Harlan Green and I going and letting the men run wild. We decided we would have a little company drawing and Austin Sandnas won. So this week they've been having a great time deep sea fishing, hanging at the pool and beach, and a little nightlife with our Corteva rep.
Hopefully we meet our goals again next year and send a couple more guys! What a cool program!

Late season stubble treatment. With the mild weather and the ground not frozen yet we were able to get a last minute stubble treatment done. This is applied very shortly after mowing in order to suppress much of the growth that follows mowing an area, especially Aspen. Much of this project was 20' tall Aspen and nearly as high as the neutral wire.
Stubble treatments are done with very detailed and and exact prescription based on speed, quantity of solution coming out in a specified area. The applicator first measures the distance side to side that the booms will reach, he then drives a set speed (in this case 4 mph) to a predetermined distance and times that drive, he then puts buckets over the spray nossles and turns them on for that exact amount of time, he then measures that solution and also multiplies the width and the length of his test plot. In this case it was 40'x100' giving him 4000 sq ft. This is .09 acres. He can then decide how many acres his tank will cover and in this case it would be 2.85 acres. He adds the mix ingredients for 2.85 acres into his water, mixes well and then can make his application. The applicator will check his accuracy often as he applies and after each tank. All numbers were spot on today and he completed a little over 18 acres of stubble treatment today.

Who's says tree guys are dummies? 😝🤪

Had an urgent project this week to quickly get out and remove trees that beavers were cutting down and landing across a 115kv transmission line. This video was to scope out the travel path to an island where the trees needed to be cut. Any trees damaged and any that had high likelihood of hitting the lines if the beavers continue to cut.. Pictures and more videos to follow!

Had to give up my truck to the crews so we went with a smaller truck for bidding, work inspections, crew and customer visits. Won't be hauling much but we have plenty of other trucks for that.. have to say it's as good as it can be on my back..

We had a little company BBQ and open house for employees and their families. We were finally able to get most employees in one place for pictures, even Sherman was able to get in on the fun! Just missing our bookkeeper Joanna and soon to be back from Florida, Bailey.
Harlan's wife Jessica took a bunch of pics with a good camera and will be editing them for us. Will post them when they are done.. these ones were from my phone camera..

Chris and Harlan bothe Passed the TRAQ course and exam!!! Harlan's certificate hasn't arrived yet, will post a pic when it does!

TRAQ is Tree Risk Assessment Qualification, an industry credential in which we went through training in tree risk assessment and an exam. It is a technique of quantifying risk based on many factors and categorizing the overall risk of a tree in its setting. Then presenting to the owner in order to make a decision on the trees care or removal.
