Here are a few EV charger installations our team at Tentmakers Electric has recently completed!

Every home is different, so an EV charger installation isn't always as simple as mounting the charger and connecting power. These recent projects ranged from clean installations directly beside an electrical panel to more involved work requiring new dedicated circuits, panel modifications, crawlspace routing, trenching, and underground conduit.

We also corrected existing EV charger wiring that wasn't properly sized for a new 60-amp charging circuit and helped another homeowner take their Tesla Wall Connector with them when they moved.

A Burned Outdoor Outlet Shouldn't Be Ignored

Exterior electrical outlets are exposed to the elements year-round, making proper protection and maintenance especially important.

For this project, a homeowner contacted us after discovering a burned GFCI receptacle on their front porch. During our inspection, we found evidence that a loose connection inside the receptacle had most likely caused the overheating. Before installing the replacement, our electricians removed the damaged device, inspected the wiring, and cut back any burned wire to ensure a safe, reliable connection. We then installed a new weather-resistant GFCI receptacle with an outdoor-rated weatherproof cover and tested the outlet to verify proper GFCI protection and reset operation.

Catching issues like loose electrical connections early can help prevent more serious damage and restore safe, dependable power to your home's outdoor outlets.

This Cornelius Backyard Is Officially Hot Tub Ready ✔️

Installing power for a hot tub involves more than simply adding a breaker. The circuit must be properly sized, safely disconnected, correctly protected, and carefully routed to the equipment.

For this Cornelius project, our electricians installed a new dedicated 50-amp circuit from the garage electrical panel to the homeowner’s new backyard hot tub. We routed the wiring through the crawlspace to minimize exposed conduit and maintain a cleaner appearance around the home.

The existing electrical panel was already full, so our team carefully reconfigured the breaker layout to create room for the new circuit without requiring an unnecessary panel replacement.

We also installed a whole-home surge protector to provide additional protection for the home’s electrical system and connected equipment.
The result is a clean, dependable installation that allows the homeowner to enjoy the new hot tub with confidence.
