TLDR - The bad well is shut down. Six good wells are still in-service. We have no backup well now. The bad well tested good in 2024. Supe is planning another test.

July was a busy month! Finished up the whole house siding replacement, new door, new window, some new walls 🤔...it was a lot! But it turned out amazing!

We also managed to slip in a little week of vacation 😁. ⛱️

The Peoria County Sustainability & Resource Conservation Department and GFL will be hosting three Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection events this year.

These events will be held:

• Aug. 8, 2026 from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Peoria Transfer Station, 4349 W. Southport Rd., Pottstown
• Sep. 12, 2026 from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Three Sisters Park, 17189 IL-29, Chillicothe
• Oct. 10, 2026 from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Alpha Park, 1525 W. Garfield Ave., Bartonville

No registration or appointment are required. These collection events are open to Peoria County residents only. Leave items in their original packaging that is clearly labeled.

Items with year-round collection options include cell phones, electronics, fire extinguishers, latex and oil paint, lithium-ion batteries, medications, needles and sharps, and tires. These items have proper disposal methods and can be searched with the What Goes Where tool in the Recycle Coach app or at https://www.peoriacounty.gov/1018.

This garage definitely needed a *little* TLC...so we rebuilt and resided the entire back wall. Quick little project with time to spare for installing a new maintenance-free PVC jamb around the door. 👍

It's been a busy couple of weeks! Got Week 1 on the books for this gorgeous exterior update. Then headed out to another project while we wait on the new windows to arrive! (It's always the windows I swear 🙄😂)

A quick basement touch-up job to get this guest suite one step closer to "ready for the grandkids." 👍

New drywall, ceiling tiles, window jamb, and a couple closet doors have it looking like a brand new space already.
