We at Hamre Equipment will never forget what happened 25 years ago today. The horror and sadness of the day and the patriotism that followed in the days after.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those today who lost loved ones or are still fighting the long term health effects from that day. They are also with the survivors, service men and women and first responders that were there that day.

For those who don’t know all the details of that day due to not being old enough or not being taught the details in school :

The September 11 attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist strikes carried out by the extremist group al Qaeda in the United States on September 11, 2001.

The Planes: Nineteen terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes bound for California from three East Coast airports.

World Trade Center: American Airlines Flight 11 hit the North Tower, and United Airlines Flight 175 struck the South Tower. Both towers eventually collapsed.

The Pentagon: American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the military headquarters outside Washington, D.C.

Shanksville, Pennsylvania: United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in a field after passengers fought back against the hijackers, preventing the plane from hitting its intended target in Washington, D.C.

Casualties and Total Deaths: 2,977 victims died during the attacks, not including the 19 hijackers.

New York City: 2,606 people died at the World Trade Center site.

The Pentagon: 125 people were killed.

Planes: All 246 passengers and crew members aboard the four aircraft died.

And many more in the last 25 years from health effects.

So today hug your family and friends a little tighter. Have a moment of silence for those lost. Thank a serviceman and first responders for all their service. And most of never forget, as we never will.
