Our 2026 NC 'Cec" Nielsen Memorial Founders Sustainability Award honored Gallagher Ranch with the charitable donation going to the East Nicholas High School Spartans Foundation. We had a beautiful ceremony and luncheon last month.

“The annual NC “Cec” Nielsen Memorial Founder’s Sustainability Award was established to honor the vision of Cec Nielsen, co-founder of Chico Electric. Mr. Nielsen along with a partner, started Chico Electric in 1960 based on three simple guiding principles, 1) Do what we say we’ll do, 2) Take care of our customers and 3) Create a sustainable business for our community. Each year from now, Chico Electric is continuing Mr. Nielsen’s legacy by likewise honoring one of our customers and one of our charities. We are proud to have the best customers in the world and choose each customer recipient based on business longevity and sustainable practices. Along with the award, a charity of ours and the awardees’ choice will be given a monetary donation in honor of our awardee customer. Chico Electric has historically supported local charities.”

Past recipients are: Carriere Family Farms (2017), Sierra Nevada Brewing Company (2018), Empire Nut (2019), James Paiva (2020), Capay Farms (2021 – 22), Pacific Farms and Orchards (2023), Gorrill Ranch (2024) and Tehama Angus Ranch (2025).

We were blessed with beautiful weather for this years NC "Cec" Nielsen Memorial Founder's Sustainability Award. The 2025 award ceremony honored Tehama Angus Ranch with a $5,000 charitable donation going to The Red Bluff State Theatre. Thank you to everyone who made it out and helped make this event so successful.
