These storms reminded us all just how fragile and vital our utility infrastructure really is. At MZI Group, we’ve been part of the utility infrastructure for this city for over 26 years. We don’t just build new. We restore, reinforce, and modernize the infrastructure that keeps Chicago running, even when the forecast says otherwise.

Congratulations to Kayla Rushford on her graduation! 🎓

We are incredibly proud to announce that our former intern, Kayla, has officially graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management.

During her time with us, Kayla brought incredible energy, dedication, and a fresh perspective to our team. It was a true pleasure to have her as an intern, and watching her take the next big step in her career is exactly why we love what we do.

We have no doubt that she will go on to achieve great things in the sports and recreation industry. The future is bright!

MZI has been a proud, longtime supporter of the I Gotta Guy Sausage Fest, and this year is no exception. 🎉🌭

For 17 years, this incredible event has raised money for rare syndromes. For the last decade, those efforts have been laser-focused on Schaaf-Yang Syndrome (SYS), and the impact is nothing short of inspiring. Because of the funds raised at this amazing event, real things are happening, research milestones, tangible progress, and meaningful help for children and families living with SYS.

This work is driven by family: the legacy of Guy Niederkorn (the man behind the grill, carrying on his grandfather’s sausage recipe), our very own Kim Nelson and her daughter, who lives with SYS. That’s why this matters. That’s why MZI shows up year after year.

This year’s goal: $350,000 for GENESYS (Foundation for Prader-Willi Research)
