Completed in 1917, the 500,000 sq. ft. Missouri State Capitol was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1969. Fast forward to 2023, the Carthage marble and Indiana limestone building is still being celebrated. It recently received the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art's 2023 Acanthus Award. Bulley & Andrews Masonry Restoration's (BAMR) extensive exterior renovation of the capitol was recognized in the Preservation & Restoration category during Wednesday night's award ceremony. In partnership with Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates - WJE, the scope of work focused on restoring the deteriorating stonework facades on all elevations. Crisp and contemporary interiors meet timeless finishes for the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile’s grand tower guest rooms renovations. The scope of work included renovations to 477 guest rooms, as well as the hotel's corridors. The modern-meets-classic updates are a nod to the hotel's metropolitan location on the city's "Magnificent Mile" on Michigan Avenue.

B&A’s project team at The Fields Studio took center stage this past week as they hosted fellow employees for an all-office meeting and site visit. Attendees were given a “behind-the-scenes” look at the project’s progress as the former Marshall Field’s site is transformed into film studio and production space. The new venue will accommodate nine sound/film stages as well as office and support spaces.
