Congratulations to CAIC member Ozinga on launching their new slag cement mill in East Chicago, Indiana! Construction of this facility generated over 250 jobs, with contributions from CAIC members Raffin Construction, Sharlen Electric, Thatcher Foundations, and Morrison Construction.

This project represents a significant investment in American manufacturing, innovation, and a more sustainable future. The mill also secures roughly 50 permanent union steelworker roles across East Chicago and Burns Harbor, leaving a lasting legacy on Midwest construction industry.
