Legat studios in three states have earned Emerging Professional Friendly Firm (EPFF) status from the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The designation celebrates firms that offer “exceptional support and opportunities” for students, recent grads, and newly licensed architects:
• AIA Ohio awarded our Columbus studio the highest designation of EPFF+.
• Our Iowa City studio reclaimed its AIA Iowa EP Friendly Firm status from AIA Iowa. We are one of just 13 firms in Iowa to achieve the distinction this year.
• Legat’s Illinois studio is one of only six firms to hold the designation through AIA Illinois.

Our Chicago studio once again participated in ZeroLandfill Chicago's annual drop-off. The event encourages designers and manufacturers to drop off unused materials: tile, laminate, glass, brick, fabric, wood, etc. The organization then opens its warehouse to teachers, artists, and other creative types to take samples for free. This year, the Legat team donated five wagons full of boxed samples.

“It’s a great way we as architects and interior designers can reduce what goes into landfills,” said Aileen Everitt, who has coordinated Legat contributions several times.

We joined District 300 and Lamp Incorporated to break ground on additions and renovations at Dundee-Crown High School. The Legat-designed project will refresh the school’s image and enhance its career and technical education offerings.

Revived spaces will accommodate everything from automotive repair and robotics to culinary arts and fashion merchandising. The project even brings a business incubator where students can pitch ideas.
