Leaking masonry windows - Recommended Action!
To stop water leaking above the window openings in the brick walls the most recommended procedure is appropriate flashing installation above the steel lintel; this element is very often deteriorated do to the water steel interaction that causes rust.
Typical repair involves opening of few layers of brick above the opening and replacing steel angle and installing continuous flashing. Most advanced installation also includes installing galvanized or aluminum drip edges and entire assembly should be drained using cotton ropes or plastic tubes.
