Edwin A. Linn
March 24, 1966 - August 7, 2022

It is with tremendous shock and sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and business partner Ed Linn. He left us early Sunday morning surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer.

All who met Ed whether as a client, vendor, co-worker, consultant, or fellow professinal soon called him a friend. He was able to connect on a personal level with everyone he encountered both personally and professionally. He could always find time if somebody needed help, or to talk.

Ed joined the Chicago Design Network team on April 1, 1993 and put his heart and soul into everything he did both in the office and beyond. His passion for architecture and the built environment knew no boundaries. His curiosity was endless. Any problem could be solved with just a little more research or by asking a few more questions.

His passing leaves a giant tear in the fabric of so many lives. We will miss his quick smile and comforting words.

As many of you know, Ed had a huge heart for helping others. We will be sharing details on his memorial and where you can donate in his memory as they become available. In the mean time hug the ones you love. Life is precious.

Happy Friday! Seeing a photo of one of our projects featured in a marketing newsletter this week had us reflecting on collaboration during the design and project implementation process. None of our work happens in a vacuum and working with great partners like .chicago and our rep Lindsey is essential to realizing our, and our client’s vision for each project. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is shaking up everyday lives. Chicago Design Network is taking preventative measures to help slow the spread of the virus. While the epidemic continues to change the way we live and work, we are equipped to remain fully operational.

PLAN IN ACTION:
· All employees are set up to work remotely and have autonomy to work from home as needed. You can find employee contact information on our website.
· Our nimble project teams have strategies and processes in place to ensure that we deliver projects on time and on budget.
· We are equipped with video and web-call software as an alternative to face-to-face meetings.
· We are minimizing travel plans to help slow the spread of the disease.

We will continue to monitor guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) and implement proper measures as they develop. Every effort to contain the virus and slow the spread saves lives.
