ManufacturingWorks Green Jobs

The goal is to increase awareness of green energy and help business & contractors with our workforce product and services while strengthening local employment in the Chicago land area. Instituto del Progeso Latino is offering "The Green Jobs Initiative Program," a 21 credit, 6 course college certification training program, in partnership with Wright College, that will prepare unemployed or “on the

bench” workers with experience in construction, HVAC, engineering, building maintenance, carpentry, etc...that are interested in “greening up” their skills for the Green economy. Program Benefits:
•Obtain up to 4 certifications (Building Operator Certificate, LEED Associates, Building Energy Technology)
•Earn up to 21 college credit hours (6 courses)
•Job Placement assistance
•Transportation assistance

Program Eligibility & Requirements:
•Be 18 years old
•Be a legal resident
•Experience working in construction field
•Live in a specific area
•Commit to completing a 12 month jobs advancement training program
•Be unemployed or low-income
•Take a placement exam (score at least 8th grade in Math & English)
