RWC recently completed a major environmental remediation project at a historic Chicago site spanning two city blocks. Our team removed over 6,200 tons of contaminated material, tackling multiple hot spots and removing existing structures to reach clean native clay. The site was then backfilled and compacted, setting the stage for future development. We also completed a full UST investigation with no underground storage tanks found.

The season is in full swing at RW Collins! We’re beginning site work on a retention pond, with crews in the early stages and equipment fully back in action. Dirt is moving and the site is taking shape. A great way to kick off the season!

RWC worked with Chicago Public Schools to revitalize the playground and outdoor space at Goethe Elementary School in Logan Square. The school also features a state-of-the-art artificial turf soccer field and a new track.

Goethe Elementary School is one of the oldest active elementary schools in the Chicago school system. Built in 1895, the school’s name pays homage to the German poet, historian, and philosopher Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who famously worked in many subject areas. There is also a historic monument to Goethe in Lincoln Park, unveiled in 1913.

The school has a long history as a vital part of the local Logan Square community, serving students throughout Chicago’s ever-evolving cultural landscape. Goethe has educated many prominent members of the community, including Anthony Quezada, one of the youngest Aldermen in Chicago's long history.

RWC had the privilege of performing site work at the Garfield Park Conservatory for the Elizabeth Morse Genius Children’s Exhibit. The exhibit features a variety of engaging amenities, including a state-of-the-art jungle gym designed to inspire exploration and learning.

The Garfield Park Conservatory is one of the largest and most historically significant conservatories in the United States. Originally established in the 1880s and expanded in the early 20th century, it is home to over 2,000 plant species and is proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

We are honored to contribute to the transformation of this iconic space and to support a project that helps cultivate a love for nature and plant stewardship in future generations.

When Robert W. Collins returned to Chicago after serving as a Navy Seabee in the Pacific Theater in WWII, he set out to build something to last. He established this company with the same values that guided him as a Navy engineer: hard work, integrity, and taking care of those around you.

These values represent what we strive to achieve every day, and we are fortunate to have had many veterans carry that same spirit forward as part of our company over the years.

Each Veterans Day, we are proud to highlight our founder and every veteran who has served this country. Thank you for your service, your leadership, and for making a difference in people's lives.
