We have had a large volume of "My water bill has been high, do I have a leak?" Phone inquiries recently.

Here is a tip to see if you toilet is the culprit.

Grab some food coloring (assuming you don't use a blue bowl additive) and put a few drops in your tank. Wait 10 minutes and if you see that color in the bowl (use a darker one, red/blue) then you need a replacement of the flap that controls the flow to the bowl (and eventually down the drain, thus waisting water). Also look for ripples (movement of the water) in the bowl 5 mins after you flush. That movement should stop after the tank fills and could be a sign of a faulty seal.

We have been called crazy in the past for this, but we are tired of hearing horror stories about the big box sewer and plumbing companies charging upwards of $800 just for routine maintenance rodding of sewer lines, yet alone camera inspection. Well they have to pay $250,000+ yearly for the fleet of fancy trucks, TV & Radio commercials, and print media. Times are rough for almost everyone, so benefit from our special this March 💚
