The Electric Association (EA) is celebrating a century! ⚡ 💡

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, the EA held its Centennial Celebration on the Spirit of Chicago at Navy Pier. Attendees celebrated a century of power, progress, and partnership. The Electrical Association’s Centennial Celebration honored 100 years of innovation and impact in Chicago’s electrical industry.

This was more than just a milestone—it was a chance to celebrate the accomplishments, relationships, and people who have helped shape this industry and will continue to drive it forward for the next 100 years. Guests were able to reconnect with colleagues, make new connections, and share the experience.

Last week one of the participants of Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT) Illinois Build Program joined us in working on EV charging stations during a job shadowing program.

Earlier this week one of the participants of Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT) Illinois Build Program visited our job site as part of their job shadowing program.

Our general superintendent and foreman showed the participant what it takes to run a job, including a blueprint review to map out piping and wire-pulling.

Getting the next generation of electricians ready for the job.

Earlier this month we hosted 30 participants of Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT) Illinois Build Program for an Open House with TECares, NFP

The highlight of the day is our panel of women in the construction industry. Insight, advice and questions are answered by apprentices, a retired electrician, a project manager, a vice president and a president and CEO and owner.

July 1st we hosted 30 participants of Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT) Illinois Build Program for an Open House with TECares, NFP

The women took a pipe and wire class with retired electrician and TECares Board Member Geri. They learned how to bring power to an outlet and a light switch.
