One of the recent projects was designing this SunTrust (now Truist) bank branch for a neighborhood retail center Working within the framework of an established corporate design standard presented an interesting challenge. Rather than simply applying a prototype, I focused on refining its proportions, transparency, and material expression to create a building that feels both timeless and welcoming.

Our goal was to design a branch that conveys permanence and trust while inviting people inside through openness and light. At the same time, I wanted the architecture to establish a strong presence within its commercial surroundings—bringing clarity, elegance, and a sense of civic character to an everyday destination.

I believe even the most familiar building types deserve thoughtful design. Architecture has the ability to elevate the ordinary and create places that people instinctively trust and enjoy returning to.

Every child deserves a place where they can learn, grow, play, and thrive.

The MOCO Movement Therapy Center is dedicated to serving children with disabilities, providing specialized therapy in an environment designed to encourage movement, confidence, and joy. As one of only a handful of centers of its kind in Montgomery County, Maryland, its mission is truly invaluable.

Our team was invited to help the center expand into an adjacent space while also exploring a series of interior design concepts that would support both children and therapists. Our goal was to create environments that feel welcoming, inspiring, and full of possibility.

Our research-based design approach focused on bringing the outdoors indoors through the thoughtful use of natural materials, warm textures, abundant daylight, indoor greenery, and calming colors. Flexible open spaces encourage movement, play, and exploration, while creative lighting and nature-inspired design elements help foster curiosity, comfort, and emotional well-being.

Although not every concept was ultimately incorporated into the completed project, the design process explored how architecture can positively influence children's development and create spaces that support healing, discovery, and happiness.

At its best, architecture is more than a building—it becomes a place where children feel excited to learn, families feel welcomed, and every visit begins with optimism.

The exterior of a retail space can have a tremendous impact on its success. Long before a customer steps inside, the storefront communicates the quality of the brand, creates a first impression, and often determines whether someone chooses to walk through the door.

For established brands such as MyEyeDr., every new location contributes to the public's perception of the company as a whole. A thoughtfully designed façade reinforces brand identity while responding to the character of its surroundings, ensuring each location feels both recognizable and unique.

Working in collaboration with CBA Architects, I had the opportunity to design the exterior of this new MyEyeDr. retail location. While modest in scale, projects like this demonstrate that thoughtful architecture is not measured by size. Every building—regardless of its footprint—has the potential to elevate the customer experience, strengthen a brand, and make a meaningful contribution to its community.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our homes became so much more than places to live. They became offices, classrooms, gathering spaces, and sanctuaries. For many families, the need for additional functional living space became more important than ever.

For the owners of this home in Chevy Chase, Maryland, the priority was simple: create a place where they could spend more quality time with their grandchildren. Their vision was to transform an existing outdoor deck into a warm, light-filled four-season room where the family could gather to play board games, read books, and create lasting memories together throughout the year.

Interestingly, the project evolved over time. What began as the idea of adding a deck progressed to screening it, before the owners ultimately decided to convert it into a fully conditioned interior living space. The result is a seamless extension of the home that feels as though it has always been there.
Converting a deck into a four-season room is one of the most effective ways to increase a home's usable living area while strengthening the connection between indoor comfort and the surrounding landscape. Large windows flood the space with natural light and maintain a close relationship with the outdoors in every season.
From our initial meeting to permit approval, the architectural design, construction drawings, and permitting process were completed in just one month. The entire project, from concept to completion, took approximately four months.
Today, this beautiful room serves exactly the purpose it was designed for—a place where generations come together, share stories, laugh over board games, and enjoy each other's company in comfort all year long.

Grateful for a beautiful Sunday 🤍

Today, I had the privilege of sharing a project update at Apostolic Fellowship Ministries and walking the congregation through the vision for the church redesign. What began as a simple expansion has grown into a thoughtful, community-centered plan to create more welcoming, functional, and uplifting spaces for worship and fellowship.

I’m deeply thankful for the warm reception from the congregation—for the thoughtful attention, kind words, prayers, and encouragement. Your trust, patience, and faith truly make this work inspirational.

A heartfelt thank you to Pastor Eko and Pastor Samuel for their leadership and support, and to the entire church family for your time, prayers, and belief in this process. It is an honor to design spaces that serve both people and purpose.

Looking forward to what’s ahead 🙏

Dental Offices are among the most competitive medical practices, often requiring complex equipment and facilities. However, practical, functional, cost-effective, and attractive layouts can create a big impact and significant benefits for the long-term success of a practice. A well-designed, contemporary office is also a valuable marketing tool that helps a practice stand out.

Farhoumand Dentistry is a multi-generational dental practice. The amount of kindness, warmth, and care they offer their patients is unique and a “breath of fresh air” in the industry.

We started this project during the COVID-related slow-down, which was a perfect opportunity to re-group, improve and prepare for the period of fast growth that followed. Working with the owners, we thought of the best ways to reconfigure and redesign the office space. We developed a new interior design scheme, including colors, finishes, lighting, furnishings, art, and accessories.

The result was a fresh, open, contemporary office that distinguished this dental practice from the competition. Together with clients-turned-dear-friends, we found a new equilibrium and inspired a new beginning.
