When a major storm hits, most restoration companies scramble. True North has a plan.

At Summit 2026, Wheat Mahoney walked us through how True North's Disaster Response Division works how it's structured, how it deploys, and how it turns the industry's most chaotic moments into organized, profitable opportunities for franchise owners.

It's one of the things that makes True North different. And it's only getting stronger.

Marcia Mead and Stephanie Ryan presented the Franchise Development update at Summit, a look at where the network is growing, how the team is structured, and what the pipeline looks like heading into the back half of the year.

The message was clear: True North is growing with intention. Every territory placement, every new owner, every market expansion is deliberate.

That standard starts with the FranDev team and carries through to every franchisee in the system.

Our COO Ray Donat took the stage at Summit 2026 and talked about trust like most people don't.

Not as a soft value you put on a wall. As a strategy. The kind that actually builds your referral network, earns you repeat business from property managers and insurance agents, and gets your customers through the hardest moments of their lives feeling like someone was in their corner.

His framework started with something simple: seek first to understand. Before you pitch, before you position, before you close. Just understand what the person across from you actually needs.

That's what the best operators in this system are doing.

There's a scene in The Founder where the McDonald brothers map out their entire kitchen on a tennis court. Every station, every movement, every step of the process. Before they built anything, they had to get the layout right.

That's exactly what Justin Donat brought to Summit 2026 with 'The Road Ahead.' Sometimes you have to stop, step back, and reconfigure the kitchen before you can scale what's inside it.

The origin story never gets old. Kelli and Justin Donat. In debt. Living in a warehouse. Building something from nothing. Every truck, every job, every floor, they did it themselves.

That's the foundation every single franchise in this network is built on. What stood out most at Summit this year wasn't the numbers. It was knowing exactly where this is all headed and believing the best years are still in front of us.

The kitchen has been reconfigured. Now we scale.

Brian Gray, VP of Formation at the Institute for Faith & Work closed out Summit 2026 with a session that stopped the room.

No KPIs. No playbooks. Just one question every owner had to sit with, "What does it actually mean to be a steward of your business?"

Not the owner of it. The steward. Responsible to the people who work for you. Responsible to the neighbors who call you after a fire.

That framing hit different in a room full of franchise owners. It reframes why we do what we do and who we're ultimately doing it for.

At True North, we're intentional about the kind of culture we're building. Brian's session was a reminder of what that foundation actually looks like when someone puts words to it.

Not every franchise system ends their annual Summit this way. We think it matters that we do.

Year-over-year growth doesn't happen by accident. It happens because the right people show up every day and refuse to settle.

Three territories were recognized at Summit 2026 for Outstanding Year-Over-Year Growth:

🥇 1st Place — Rich & Jennifer Gogal, True North Restoration of Omaha South
🥈 2nd Place — Nathan Baker, True North Restoration of McKinney and Frisco
🥉 3rd Place — Michael Morris, True North Restoration of Omaha-Elkhorn

Rich and Jennifer, what you built in Omaha South speaks for itself. This one's yours.

These owners didn't just grow. They led.

Congratulations to all three.

Year one. Rookie of the Year. Not a bad start, Michael Duffy.

When you open a new franchise, year one is supposed to be about figuring it out. Michael Duffy did not get that memo. He launched True North Restoration of True North Restoration of Greater St. Louis West and hit the ground so hard that by Summit 2026, his peers were giving him the highest honor a first-year owner can earn.

If this is what year one looks like, we cannot wait to see the rest.

St. Louis, you are in incredible hands. Michael, congratulations from the whole True North family!

This is the hardest post to write, and the most important one.

Aaron Traywick had a year that most people would not have gotten through. The kind of weight that quietly breaks things. But Aaron kept showing up. For his customers, for the team at True North Restoration of Savannah, and for himself.

At Summit 2026, when his name was called for the Resilience Award, the room felt it. Because the people who had watched him carry that year knew exactly what it meant.

Aaron, this family loves you. Savannah is lucky to have you. We are so proud of you. Congratulations.

The Compass Award does not come from corporate. It comes from your peers.

Every True North franchise owner in the network casts a vote for the person who best represents what this brand stands for. Integrity. Heart. The kind of owner who raises the standard just by being in the room.

This year, every arrow pointed to Noah Witt.

Noah pours that same energy into every customer and every job at True North Restoration of SW Oregon. His fellow owners saw it. And they made sure he knew it.

Noah, that kind of recognition means everything. Congratulations on the Compass Award!

If you want to know what the gold standard looks like at True North, look no further than Nathan Baker.

Nathan Baker and the team at True North Restoration of McKinney and Frisco built something special this year. A team that believes in the work. Customers who trust them completely. Growth that made the whole network take notice.

At Summit 2026, he walked to the stage as Franchisee of the Year. The only surprise was how unanimous it felt.

McKinney and Frisco, you have one of the best in the business in your corner. Nathan, this network is better because you are in it. Congratulations!
