Solid Surface Fabricator (Chesterfield)

Position Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, we are looking for dependable and self-motivated individuals with a great work ethic. As a solid surface fabricator, you will be using your solid surface knowledge to build countertops, desks and accessories. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be punctual is a must.
Job Duties:
• Manufacture and fabricate various products with various finishes (i.e. laminate, solid surface, etc.)
• Reads and interprets plans and blueprints to produce solid surface counter tops within specifications
• Operates power tools of various sizes to customize solid surface materials
• Cut out, build, assemble, glue, and sand all solid surface components for assigned projects
• Grinds, sands, cleans, or polishes surfaces
• Inspects and verifies quality of finished work pieces
• Read and interpret work orders to ensure accuracy regarding customer requests
• Cut sinkholes, backsplashes, etc., to match exact specifications in job notes/drawings
• Shape, trim, sand, and polish various products using powered hand tools and various equipment
• Use job notes to determine plan for miters, edges, etc.
• Follows all company policies and procedures
• Ensures a safe working environment
• Cleans shop at the end of workday
• Clear communication to production manager and other team member
Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in cabinet manufacturing preferred
• Knowledge of solid surface brands and characteristics
• Ability to operate woodworking equipment
• Ability to read blueprints
• Display a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions from Production Manager and Team Leader
Physical Demands:
• Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted
• Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted
• Access and mobility in tight spaces
• Sustained periods of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
