Do the different construction delivery methods for a project confuse you?

In our blog, we break down three different types of delivery methods. We explain the pros and cons for each method, and why a certain method may or may not fit your end goal.

We hope we can help you make the best decision for your project!

We recommend all owners consult with their architect on the pros and cons of each delivery method and the procurement requirements and laws to select a path that best fits their project.

We're proud to spotlight the Virginia Seafood Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Hampton following the recent announcement celebrating the center's 50 years of service to Virginia's seafood industry. The center has spent five decades advancing research, innovation, workforce development, and industry solutions that support an industry contributing more than $1.27 billion to Virginia's economy. 🔬🌊

Completed in 2022, the new 22,224 SF facility was designed to replace the center's aging building and provide a world-class research environment for aquaculture, food safety, seafood processing, microbiology, and education. Elevated above potential floodwaters and thoughtfully designed to support cutting-edge research, the facility helps ensure that Virginia Tech researchers, students, and industry partners can continue driving innovation along Hampton's waterfront for decades to come.

As the center looks toward its next 50 years, we're honored to have helped create a resilient, forward-thinking facility that serves as both a hub for scientific discovery and a catalyst for waterfront revitalization in Hampton.

This Fire Prevention Week, we celebrate the firefighters who serve our communities and the facilities that help them do their jobs safely and effectively. 🚒

This project is an 18,000 SF fire station designed to serve the Harbour View community in Suffolk, Virginia as an essential public safety facility. Featuring four drive-through apparatus bays, a three-story tactical training tower, integrated rescue training props, and flexible spaces for future growth, the facility equips firefighters with the tools and training needed to respond when seconds matter most.

Beyond emergency operations, the station includes a community training room, modern living quarters, fitness facilities, and collaborative spaces designed to foster teamwork and wellness among first responders. Built to meet rigorous industry standards and evolving community needs, this project stands as an investment in safety, preparedness, and resilience.

Our recent Hard Hat Tour of Hampton City Schools’ Bethel High School Science Addition highlighted how thoughtful design can transform learning. From specialized health sciences labs and collaborative learning areas to curriculum-based graphics throughout the building, every space was designed to support hands-on, collaborative education.

We also explored the importance of interdisciplinary coordination during construction, reviewed safety and security strategies that balance transparency with student well-being, and learned how the project incorporates sustainable stormwater management solutions.

We want to thank all our consultants that have helped bring this project to life, David Allen Company for explaining the specifics of the terrazzo pours that occurred during the tour, and The American Institute of Architects for the opportunity to share the project.
