🌧️ A few hurricane preparedness tips for homeowners with residential elevators:
Park your elevator on the top floor. Whether you're evacuating or staying home, moving your elevator to the highest landing before the storm can help protect it from potential flooding.
Turn off the power if you're able to do so safely. Once the elevator is parked, shutting off power to the unit can help protect its electrical components.
After the storm: If your elevator or its equipment has been exposed to water or flooding, we recommend having it inspected by a qualified elevator technician before returning it to service.
Above all, your safety comes first. Never put yourself at risk to prepare your elevator.
