Replaced a leaking water heater with a new Rheem 40-gallon natural gas unit, paired with a Caleffi thermostatic mixing valve.

• Eliminated active leak
• Hot water restored
• Mixing valve adds to total usable hot water capacity
• Helps prevent scalding while maintaining consistent temperature
• Clean, serviceable installation

The mixing valve allows the tank to store hotter water while delivering safe temperatures to fixtures Giving you more usable hot water without increasing tank size.

If your water heater is leaking or struggling to keep up, it may be time to replace it before it turns into a bigger issue.

Clean water starts at the source.

Installed a high-capacity dual-stage 20" whole house filtration system featuring:

• 20" sediment filter to capture dirt, sand, and particulate
• 20" carbon filter to reduce chlorine, taste, and odor
• Full copper bypass loop for easy service and filter changes
• Pressure gauges to monitor filter performance and pressure drop

The larger 20" filters provide higher flow rates and longer service life, making them ideal for whole-house water filtration systems.

This setup improves water quality while helping protect plumbing fixtures, appliances, and the home's piping system.

We replaced an older indirect water heater with a new 45-gallon high-efficiency indirect tank and installed a Caleffi thermostatic mixing valve to improve performance and safety.

Benefits of this upgrade:
Increased hot water capacity
More consistent water temperature
Protection against scalding
Higher efficiency using the existing boiler

The mixing valve allows the tank to store hotter water while delivering safe, controlled temperatures to the fixtures. Giving the homeowner more usable hot water without needing a larger tank.

If your home is running out of hot water or your tank is getting older, an indirect water heater upgrade can be one of the best improvements you can make.

Got a call this week for an emergency leak in a commercial building in Billerica.

When we opened the ceiling we found the problem right away — a 4" cast iron drain line split wide open along the top.

This is something we see a lot with older buildings. Cast iron slowly corrodes from the inside out, and by the time you notice water leaking through the ceiling, the pipe is usually already completely compromised.

We cut out the failed section and replaced it with new no-hub cast iron and shielded couplings, properly supported and tied back into the system.

Building back up and running

If your building still has original cast iron drain piping, it may be worth having it looked at before it turns into an emergency like this.
