June 13, 2016, I hauled the first load under the DN Hines Co name. I had purchased a 1998 Peterbilt 362, bolted on some long log gear, learned that cab guards tall enough to clear a cabover are hard to come by, and I went for it. It was my second go at owning and operating my own log trucks. The first attempt was a failure, but one that I did learn quite a bit from.
Today, DN Hines Co has 7 employees, 5 of which are full time drivers with myself and my incredible wife, Kara, operating the business. We have a fleet of 7 log trucks, a wide customer base for which we are very grateful, and above all else, we have the absolute best drivers man for man in the entire business. And that is not something I say lightly.
Gary, Dakota, Kedrick, Jace, and Luke, you men are the number one reason for our stellar reputation and success in the log hauling industry. I also cannot forget to mention the high quality employees who we've had in the past who set the tone for this company and set the kind of expectations our boys try to exceed or meet every day.
And equally as important and as appreciated are the hard work and dedication of Jim and Trace at Clark Fork Heavy Truck and Equipment Repair. You boys have done a stellar job of keeping our fleet reliable and available and it could not be done to this caliber without you. We are very excited for the recent additions of Corbyn and David in the Hines Co wash bay as well as Elliott in the Clark Fork grease bay.
I am proud of the companies that you men have helped me to build and this company in particular could never accomplish what we have without the caliber of men that you all are. And I cannot convey my appreciation enough for my wife, Kara, and my beautiful family for their love and support.
I am exceedingly grateful for the support of mentors like Ernie Cook, my Buck's Logging family (Brad, Bart, Brent, Whylo, Bryce), and all the other great men and companies who helped and taught me along the way.
A special thank you is in order for the late Elmer Cook who helped get me started the first time, and Eric Nixon who has helped our company grow this time around.
Can't wait to see what the next 10 years and beyond will bring. Here's to the best damn crew of log haulers and mechanics I've ever had the privilege of working with!
