Continuing on with the house a couple posts back overlooking the bridge on the Lake MI side. AKA the one where I had a heart failure watching the kids hoisting up in the Sky-track when they were home earlier this summer! Well, It’s all tucked in from elements and siding has begun. Dan is seeding today so he can pull occupancy when the time comes later….planning for a Christmas celebration! 🥳🎄

We pulled occupancy on the house (5 posts back) on Lake Huron that we started fall 2025 south on Hwy 23 about 20 minutes from us.
The owners have complete say on decor and did a fabulous job! He designed the house to have a stunning panoramic view of Lake Huron from the kitchen/living room, master suite and a full view screen room off the deck.

We took the kids to see a couple of the houses last week. Pappy hoisted them in the sky track while it was just sitting...

We took the kids to see a couple of the houses last week. Pappy hoisted them in the sky track while it was just sitting there looking lonely?…I freaked!!! 🤷‍♀️. Anyway, the kids were SO excited to see his houses…win win! Took them all to BC Pizza buffet for lunch. Nice time.

Continuing with the house (6 posts back) next to bridge on Lake Michigan side that we tore down in Dec 2025 just in time to be covered with three months of snow…lots and lots of snow! It’s been a progress because of the height and complexity of the structure; however, I am told we should be ready for shingles and dried in with windows/doors within the next couple of weeks…happy day!

Dan designed the house with gorgeous panoramic views of the bridge in the living room and master suite. The living room windows will be all the way to the top with trapezoids and awnings along the wall in the master.

All Dan wanted for his birthday this year was to have Cheboygan and Mackinaw City added to our logo on his truck and too...

All Dan wanted for his birthday this year was to have Cheboygan and Mackinaw City added to our logo on his truck and tool trailer…wish granted for my Mr A!! 🥳🎉. He is one happy builder doing what he loves most in the area he’s always loved most.

And when someone comes along matching the personality that Dan loves working with (engineer brain) happens to live three doors down from the house we’re working on thru the winter anyway and wants a pole barn….well, sure we can slide in a slightly oversized pole barn for him!!

And we don’t often do addition/remodels unless we can use them to fill a spot assuring the guys have work and it’s close...

And we don’t often do addition/remodels unless we can use them to fill a spot assuring the guys have work and it’s close to home for them. Well, everything is close to home here so we’ve opened up the doors a little more for remodels and bc like Dan says “they’re just so nice, I can’t say no!!’ Anyone that knows Dan, knows the more the challenge the more he loves rolling up sleeves and getting to work on it! This was a smaller addition suite for absolutely lovely people and he totally enjoyed the winter working with them. For me, well the driveway out landed us in front of one of my favorite restaurants so count me in!!

We started another house in early fall south on 23 about 20 minutes from home, so the guys could keep busy with interior finish throughout the winter. Beautiful sight owned by beautiful people on the shores of Lake Huron. It’s within weeks of pulling occupancy on and a celebration dinner with new friends that own it. I’ll try to post more finished pics once I visit it for final walk through with Dan.

Happy Spring every one! After a very long winter and this thing called a March blizzard that dropped a small 40-48” of snow and 60 mph +/- wind gust around us we are finally able to get back to our heartbeat of life….building houses! We picked up coming out of the winter with the house in previous posts on Lake Michigan with a gorgeous view of the bridge….Dan’s little slice of heaven on earth for sure.

The foundation was well protected fortunately bc it was buried in snow for months and fairly easy to move forward with once uncovered by a bit of sunshine and warmer temps….easy for me to say bc I wasn’t the one shoveling and baling out snow towards the end to move it along!

BTW! The house you see to the left of the site is scheduled to tear down next spring and be first out of the winter for new build. ❤️

Do what you love and you’ll never work a day! Dan can hardly contain himself today with working next to the bridge…tearing down an old cottage and staking out for the new one! Last one for 2025 and will plan to keep the guys busy for the winter! Incredibly grateful for his health, energy and vision to build.

We always have so much fun visiting that I forget to take photos! I finally remembered this time when we visited this gorgeous house we completed in summer of 2024 in Mackinaw City…part of a dream come true for Dan to be building on Lake Michigan. Bonus we made beautiful friends 🩷💙
