Thanks to everyone who have called or stopped in to see if we are open. Not quite yet but soon. Because our greenhouses are not airtight we always open at the end of May not the beginning. We also have more unusual plants available. Many of you have preordered and the truck is coming sometime this Thursday. As soon as it’s unloaded we will start pulling orders and call you to pick them up. Then we get both shade and sun greenhouses filled with flats. Our selection of perennials is the biggest one yet. We are open until the middle of October. Tickets will be available here for the July 17th Seedums Garden and Garages Walk. See you soon! We are open to the public this Saturday, May 28 at 8:00 and all Memorial Day weekend.

So please if you plan on ordering from us please do it ASAP. We will be placing our big order by the middle of April to be delivered before Memorial Day. You can call me 231-627-4051 or email your order to [email protected]. Thank you and happy gardening!

Today was the 2nd day in a row I saw a hummingbird. This time it was chasing a sparrow who looked confused that a tiny something was in its tail. Got to watch both of them perching a few branches away from each other. We have had such nice weather that the flowers still look awesome. We still have perennials for sale, 3 for $10.00 and it’s not too late to plant them. We will also have some bulbs for sale after they all get here. The bulb preorders have to be picked up first. Am very excited about the upcoming 2022 growing season with a wide variety of cool perennials. They have been ordered & coming the last week of April. We open the end of May once the weather straightens on. We are still taking preorders for the following: annuals, herbs, vegetables, perennials and hanging baskets. If you preorder, we call you when the plants are ready to be picked up. We open later than other greenhouses because then you don’t have to shift plants in & out every day. If you have any questions or want to place an order please feel free to contact us at [email protected] or 231-627-4051. Have a great day!

Got slugs? Well this is the time to do away with the eggs, if you’ve ever found them they are in a cluster & clear, hard to see. They are laid at the base of host as or little nearby. The recipe is 10 parts water to 1 part clear ammonia. I take a gallon jug, put in 10 cups of water, mark it & add 1 cup of ammonia. Mix & then out in a watering can with sprinkler head in it. Apply when hostas are coming up, look like ci******es. The ammonia is so diluted it won’t hurt the plants at all. Plan on doing it this afternoon. We will be opening the last week of this month. Why, you ask & miss Mothers Day? Happy Mothers Day today even if you only have animals not children like me!!! I want my customers to be able to put their plants out when the weather permits them to up here. Who wants to move plants in & out. Also we take many preorders so customers are assured to have what they need. Am so excited for you all to see the best variety of perennials & supertunias we have ever had. I will post here when we open because we aren’t sure when annual, vegetable, etc flats are being delivered. Happy growing season everyone, see you soon. If you preordered, we will call you when we have your order ready.
